What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
I have one Golden Doodle boy name Tucker. Behaviorally, he is similar to "Marley", but my girls and I adore him!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
My girls and I spent a lot of time looking at various dog breeds. We stumbled on the Doodle at a road race in Richmond and fell in love with the breed. We got our boy because the folks who were planning to buy him backed out. Truly, their loss.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Our favorite thing to do with Tucker is to walk on the trails in the area parks. He loves the woods!
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Yes!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?

The Heroic mother and the Daring doodle

Posted on June 6, 2010 at 5:15pm 9 Comments

It's Becky's daughter...again. My mom really has to start typing around here! Anyway, my dog, Tucker, did something extremly brave, and not to mention very stupid. Well, we were at the park, taking Tucker for a walk. We walked down to the creek to let him swim a little bit. Tucker is very scared of deep water. He would only stay in the shallow parts of the creek! I kept throwing his ball out to a deep spot in the creek, and Tucker (being a super smart dog) found a way to stick his paw out and… Continue

All pity to Tucker

Posted on April 20, 2010 at 5:27pm 9 Comments

It's Becky's daughter once again. Tucker, the cute but bad one, has been acting very strange lately. Now, since I want to be a vetinarian's assistant when I grow up, I gave Tucker a check-up. I seem to have a special connection with animals and I usually know exactly what's wrong with them, but this time, Tucker was acting different and I couldn't understand what he wanted. I soon found out that he had an ear infection (that explains the bad smell in our house!). His ear was, well, I'm not… Continue

SNOW! SNOW! SNOW!

Posted on December 20, 2009 at 12:17pm 5 Comments

Becky's daughter here! I have a hilarious story to tell. My mom told me what Tucker has done in the snow. He ran around until he got dizzy. He buried his face in the snow. He got snow all over his nose! Tucker, the white nosed doodle! Had a very chilly nose! And if you ever saw it, you would even say it froze. I can picture it now, Tucker will be the name on everybody's lips! He will be famous for his frozen nose. Silly puppy! Tucker loves snow, and not just to play in! Tucker loves to eat snow… Continue

The doodle, the song, and the Future!

Posted on December 17, 2009 at 12:40pm 6 Comments

It is Becky's Daughter, your new official "blogger"! I have a vision of the future. Spoooooooky! I have put my Christmas Tree up last night. In about 20 minutes, Tucker, the ravenous doodle, will eat up all of my favorite ornaments on the tree! He will eat all the ones on the bottom first, and then he will jump up and get all of the ones on the top! Last year we lost numerous ornaments. Tucker is a hilarious doodle that consumes everything! I made up a song about what he will eat. I know he… Continue

Tucker and the Fall leaves

Posted on December 16, 2009 at 12:53pm 6 Comments

It's me, Becky's daughter. I love to post blogs about Tucker. Here is one very funny story. Well, lets say that Fall is many PEOPLES favorite season. But, dogs can have favorites, too. Right? Tucker is one of those dogs. He loves Fall. I can tell because...I don't want to spoil the surprise! It was a beautiful Fall day and I was outside in the backyard where there were numerous leaves spread over the ground. Tucker was rambunctiously sprinting across the yard with his ball. I was extremely… Continue

Hi Becky and Tucker,
I think your dog and mine are related. I have a posting of all the stuff my Malibu has consumed and it was mostly in her first 1.5 years of life. It will get better somehow. You should check out our list and not to brag, but in a bad way, our list is longer than yours. I hope yours doesn't catch up with ours.
If your parents are willing ask them or grandparents to contribute to training classes at Petsmart. We did that with our doole and it greatly helped. My husband and I went, and basically we were taught and trained, and then the doodle. So your parent or parents can go with you and help. You get weekly exercises to work on, plus they get to learn how to interact with outers, be in a crowd, and handle all sorts of situation. it's super fun, if you have a good trainer. Teaches just basic dog manners and may help your shoulder! have fun and keep us posted, Eva and Malibu and Willow Doodle.

Hello GRAD member,
We have a new and exciting event coming July 26th, from 1-4 to celebrate our recent jump to 100 members!
We will be having a BBQ/Picnic and a lake for the doodles to go swimming at The Dude Ranch in Glen Allen. Please check out the discussion on the group page entitled "Party Time" and respond there if you plan to attend so I can get a doodle head count for the facility.
Thanks and hope to see you there!

Thanks! Your Tucker is also adorable. I love his nose and eyes. It looks like his eyes might be green. I think there's a group here on DK for Green Eyed Doodles, so you should check it out. I don't think there are a lot of them with green eyes.

Hey there GRAD member,
This is a reminder that the Spring Romp is next weekend March 15th at 1pm. The make-up date in case of bad weather is the following Sunday. We have some great news, our newest member Charnell told me her daughter Amy, is launching a canine therapeutic massage business and she has volunteered to provide some freebie massages to the GRAD group at the romp. Also as I stated in the e-mail message we will be having a few contest. Inspired by Strange's Dog days in the garden, the best sit/stay, the owner/doodle look-a-like, and the best dressed for St. Patty's day contests. Please respond in the discussion on the group page if you will be attending and please let me know if you are new to the group, are attending and would like your GRAD bandana for your doodle.
Thanks and hope to see you there!

Hey Becky! Welcome to DK & to the Richmond Group. Tucker and your girls are beautiful. Loved your blog and your style of writing - quite entertaining!
Hopefully Tucker will grow out of some of his bad traits - hang in there!
Looking forward to meeting you at one of our gatherings. Perhaps at Carytown on the 7th?

Hi Becky! I see that you're going to RDOC for Tucker. How do you like it? Are you going for "therapy" classes for Tucker? I'm really interested in that too for Hollywood.

My husband owned a local magazine when we lived in CT and I was his Editor in Chief. I loved writing the articles and proofing other people's work--did not like dealing with the writers though!
