Lucy, The puppy part is hard, but also so fun. Unfortunately, I did not have DK support, you will have a lot of support. How wonderful this breeder will do a "pre school". It would be well worth any cost. Breezy did do day care 2X a week for about 6 weeks to be socialized, Wishes for much happiness and fun with the new puppy, am excited for you. Janet, how exciting and fun, congratulations.

Thanks Janet.  Smeraglia is a first rate operation.  Congratulations on Sophie!  I will check out the site.  Still trying to pull the trigger on this project.  i have a wonderful 9 year old labradoodle boy and he needs a friend to keep him young and active.

I posted about Sophie. She is coming from Smeraglia in Alabama. She is currently in prep school - after 8 weeks you can sign them up for advanced training which is perfect for us older folk! If you send me a private note I can give you more info.

welcome Kathryn. I just turned 71 in August and we expect our puppy to arrive on 9/20 - a goldendoodle. We have had dogs before but at our age - we thought it would add a little companionship. Her name is Sophie and she is now 9 weeks and excited about her arrival. Hopefully I have the energy to do this. I live in Texas and know the heat factor. Hopefully it will cool off soon!

Hello every one , I just joined this group and am so happy to be here. I am in my early 70s, retired just last year and got Breezy via air the day after retirement. She was 8 weeks old, many problems, biting etc. she is the love of my life, it is just the two of us. She will be one year this month. I am healthier because of her and we do fine. So very happy to be in this group. Thank you for starting it. Also live in the desert so we are restricted during the day to go out side, cannot wait for cooler temps so we can go out more. Forgot, she is a medium, cream full of delicious energy and 23 1/2 lbs. she has calmed down quite a bit. Love, love her.

Yes, proud to admit it and join...just celebrated 52 and spent a wonderful week at a beach house with the family and our dood, Bay!
