I use a sit or down stay and a cookie or weird noise to get their attention.

I posted this discussion but it didn't attach to the Photography Group like I thought it would. So I have cut/pasted it here.

Discussion I just learned something new that I want to share with you. My husband bought me a new Nikon D-5000 camera body and a Tamron 18-270 lens. I have been using my Nikon D50 using my three lenses: 70-300, 28-200 and 18-55. He was hoping to buy the body only and use my existing lenses. Turns out that the older cameras drive the lens through the motor in the body. The newer bodies don't have the motor to drive the lens. You have to buy a new lens because the lenses now have their own motor but get the power from the body of the camera. This gives you quicker and better focus...or something like that. So if you are planning on getting a new camera body thinking your old lenses will work...take the lenses with you and have the sales person check them out. Also, if you have an external flash the Nikon Speedllight SB-600 will work. That is the one I used with my D50.

Thank you for inviting me, I love photography but my only experience is pointing & shooting......in addition to patience, patience, patience with my favorite subject Leo & my son while playing baseball. I am also a part time costume designer so I have fun taking pictures of Leo in costume. The photos are a great ice breaker when I bring him on visits to the local nursing homes. I look forward to the photography insight from you all!

Thanks for the invitation to the group! I use different cameras - Nikon SLR, Nikon Coolpix. And even the camera on my iPhone, which isn't bad! Looking forward to learning more here.

I Love Picasa also Denise :) That "I'm feeling lucky" tab is the best!!!!

I use two camera's, Kodak Z712 and a little Kodak Z730 pocket camera. I would love to get into a little more complicated camera and learn to bring out my little dark ones eyes. She get's lost sometimes when the light is not just right. I look forward to hints, pointers and info from everyone :)
