Totally worth reading: All The Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr. It's beautifully written and a compelling story set pre and during WWII from two perspectives - a young French woman who loses her sight, and a very bright German young man. The chapters are quick and switch between the perspectives which makes it easy to set down, but you won't want to set it down! It's been out a while so maybe someone's read it here - ?

I got started on something new.  The author is Stephenie Meyer and her first book was Twilight.  Since I like time travel, witches, vampires, and werewolves, it is just down my line.  Supposedly for young readers and I guess there was a Twilight series on television.  Light reading but the books are large (600 - 700 pages each).  Starts with Twilight, then New Moon, then Eclipse, and the last one I know about is Breaking Dawn.  It is keeping me entertained with light, dark reading.

Jenn,  I love mysteries. Lighter reading ones:  Dana Stabenow has a series set in Alaska that has a woman as the main character. Monica Ferris  and Laura Childs are also mystery writers with series set in tea  or needlework shops. Sue Grafton writes the alphabet series.

I am just finishing a marathon of Michael Connelly books. He writes about a detective Harry Bosch and a lawyer, Mickey Haller among others.

I just finished the newest Faye Kellerman novel and loved it.  I am wondering if it will be the last of the Peter Decker series.

I finished Orphan Train and really liked it.  So.... I thought I would try Australian War Brides and hated it.  It was characterizations and, to me was not really an example of the Australian war brides but cliches.  Of course, I could be wrong, but I was disappointed.

Hi    Loved "Orphan Train"  we read it for book club and one of the members researched and found two Governors that were on the Orphan Train.  John Green Brady of Alaska and Andrew Burke of N. Dakota.
