I wanter to post this here too and see if anyone else has noticed this.

I noticed that since switching Lucy and Ethel to TOTW, their furry faces are no longer stained rust color.  Before around their mouths was so rusty, that I had to touch up photos.  They almost have no stains now at all.  I haven't switched anything else.  Same water bowl too.

Anyone else experience this?

When we got Annie she did the opposite, she was darker when we got her and her whole entire body changed to the cream she is now except her ears and a few hairs down her back.

My Beay was very, very creamy whemn he was a pup and as he has aged his coat has darkened and the majority of his coat, except his face, ears and paws is a carmel color.

Hi Everyone :)  This is my little Lani girl sleeping.  She is 3 months now and I'm noticing her coat is changing colors, as you can see in this picture.  It's becoming more of a goldeny cream.  Will she continue to get darker???

He's darling the way he is, but his hair will continue to grow...we let Baker's hair grow for many months, until his eyes disappeared :)  You'll eventually see the need for a trim.  The groomer keeps their nails clipped, gives a 'sanitary trim' to avoid messes in the back, expresses the anal glands & can often find mats you didn't know were there.  Baker is groomed every 6-8 weeks & needs a bath every 2 weeks.  My husband takes him to a self-serve dog wash between groomings.  Good luck...!

Hi!  I have a question and thought maybe I could get some help. This is Hogan, he is 5.5 months old. My question is...do I have to get him groomed? I never had a dog that needed to be groomed. We live in SC. I really like him with long shaggy hair. What is the benefit to grooming. I brush him everyday so he does not have mats that I can see. Thanks for advice!

Leanna, some of the older doodle breeders still dock their puppies' tails when their dew claws are done. They've done the same thing to cockapoos for decades. I think originally it deferred to the Poodle part of the doodle. Many cockapoo breeders now leave natural tails and I think most of the doodle breeders leave the tails alone. I do love the way a "tail-less" dog wags aaaall over when he's happy! :-)

Thanks for telling me about other doodles having a bob-tail (or docked) tail.  That makes me feel better.  Personally, I like it better as it's one less thing that can get matted or needs combing, and it shows off Ozzy's fuzzy butt better! ha
