i hate to say it, but i am glad i'm not alone...:)  i see those "doodles moms" (i am not a mom, i am their human companion...lol) with their packs & the people at the dog parks with the pairs or 3's that just "LOVE TO PLAY TOGETHER ALL THE TIME" & i want to smack those peole sometime...lol.  when i'm lucky if i get them to be in the same room quietly.

wow, 3 years and they still only tolerate each other?  I am still waiting for the day when my two seem to like each other (we are at the tolerate stage and they sometimes play together and we haven't had a fight in about a month).  It has been 9 months since we added Ollie to the family and I had really hoped that they would be best buds by now.  I am sorry for your situation, but it makes me feel like i'm not alone.

i just looked at the calendar & realized that on 4/22 it will be 3 yrs since i've rescued morgan.  although he has made lots of progress (yea!) there is one great big glaring issue that i have NOT been able to fix/correct/adjust/whatever...i've read the books, paid the trainer to come to the house (i don't know who she thought i was going to turn into after 45 yrs, but apparently it wasn't the dog whisperer), & watch the tv shows BUT i still can't get my boys to tolerate let alone LIKE each other.  well, i guess they do "tolerate" each other for the most part wth morgan posturing & wyatt making noises & we haven't had any fights (knock wood...HARD!) in about 9 mths now. but other than that my "special needs" baby has come a long way...:)

Aja is doing great, still a little skiddish when anyone moves around the house.I guess it just scares her,but great with people she knows and really great with people she doesn't know .I take her to the pet shop and on walks and to the dog park. Every day it gets better. She loves to ride in the car.I really think having the other two doodles with her everyday is the best thing that has ever happened to her. (and having us love her too)

Aja is doing great. She comes to us and gives kisses and does very well in her doggy classes.Still very shy around other people but I see improvement every day. We are so lucky to have her.She was adapted in March. Its taken a long time for her to trust us.

Wow, Amy, that's a great endorsement for the Thundershirt. I have heard other good things about it, so I don't think it's the placebo effect that's helping Ollie feel calmer. I think the effect is similar to swaddling a baby; some of them just feel safer when they're wrapped up tight, so to speak. It must be like a virtual hug.

So I am not usually one to promote  products but I went out and bought a Thundershirt (I figured that it couldn't hurt) and finally got it on Ollie (FKA Oscar) and he is now just laying on the livingroom floor.  I am 2 rooms away and now neither dog is following me.  They are both laying out there with my DH. 15 minutes ago Ollie would follow me and run from my husband.  He just put his paws up on the couch where my DH is laying and let him pet him (one hand only and ran when DH went to use 2 hands, but still....).  Dogs don't understand placebo effect do they? lol

Someone called it the Potty Cheer on here one day. I had to laugh because since Starlit, I've been doing the potty cheer.  Good OUT.  Good Out.   We all do. She was so hard to train because she would NOT GO, we just tell her each time.  Even Spud goes over and marks her spot.  Of course this is not why he is marking her spot but I like to think he is giving her a cheer too.

Been watching this post.  I'm so thrilled too!  Know that feeling of worrying for the dog but trying not to let the dog know you are worrying... blah blah. Just so frustrating.   Mark that SPOT with a big stick and go back to it again--FOR SURE!

Congratulations, you made it through the first weekend with your rescue.  May you all have many more enjoyable days to come.
