I'm very sports oriented (as are all of Murphy's aunts, uncles, and grandparents) so, his collar/leash/bandanna/ID tag are in support of our favorite team. His "normal" collar is an embroidered Red Sox one, which I picked up at a small pet store in NH, along with his Red Sox ID tag, leash, and bandanna. I've learned that they've since stopped making this particular collar, but you can find something kind of similar online. Just type in your sports team in Google, and something will pop up.

Murphy's "going potty" collar is a choke chain. Since we don't have a fence, he has to be walked to the woods behind the house. Very early on, he learned that if he bolted at the end of the retractable leash, full speed ahead, he could snap whatever he was wearing in half. After ruining numerous collars (and almost dislocating my shoulder), I decided a choke was best. He can't snap metal in half and he can't shake his head out of a choker, which he started doing with the metal-clipped nylons.

Nancy Casey, I want the pink camo one! I even bought some pink camo fabric recently to make her a scarf. :D

Here is a fun website for Dublin Dog collars. I have a few for Gracie Doodle that she wears when she goes to the beach or is going to be in water. They are fun colors and designs. When she goes to the Doggie Ranch in the mountains when we travel, she is water all the time so this is the collar she wears while there!

Ned's everyday collar is rolled leather from PetCo or PetSmart. They work great but if you get a color and it gets wet, the color will bleed into the fur.

I use the rolled leather collars on both of mine as their all the time collars.

Ok, those are very cute! I searched for a store in my area and came up empty but there is one by my in laws in NY. I called and the collars run about $25 to $30 not including the charms. Adding this one to my long list of ones I am considering, LOL! Thanks for the info :) I saw the shamrocks...very cute ;)

The problem is that she normally goes through groomers and some stores. She offered to work with me directly if there was no store in my area. Nancie Casey (a DK member) in San Diego, Ca. is how I found out about them. I haven't ordered yet because I wanted to order for all my dogs and one of my dogs was injured and needed $4,000 surgery. It made multiple pricey collars our of my current budget. I must get one for Ned though because she has shamrocks and that is his birthday!

Nancy and Ned, do you have a site for the leather ones with the decorations? I'm looking for a new collar for Gidget, she's already outgrown her current one! There are so many choices, I don't know what to get, LOL!
