I use prong collars for both my dogs. i found that a regular one stained Luca's fur. I also had great difficulty opening the collar since you have to squeeze the prongs. Leashes by Design makes custom leashes and collars. I got stainless steel prong collars with a easy open closure and they have been great. They are about $4o with shipping. Shannon, with whom I spoke is very helpful and nice. Some of the leashes and collars are beautiful but pricey, although they entail a lot of work. Not practical for me, though nice to look at.

I bought a Sporn leash coupler through Amazon from Horseloverz.com, where I found the best price . It was about $13 including shipping. The coupler is easy to adjust and you can have 2 different lengths of coupled leash for each dog. So far it is working really well for my 2 medium dogs.

Trevors tag is so cool looking. Just ordered 2 on Etsy. Not the exact same. Love the handmade look of them.

We went to a rolled leather collar with Ned and it did help with matting at the neck. Ned wears his collar at all times. Nancie Casey has some really cool leather collars that are not rolled but flat and I have been thinking of getting one of those for Ned because you can put cool decorations on them.

I've also heard that about rolled collars. I do keep my collars on my dogs at home, as they are usually out in the yard or roaming the farm.

Someone told me that rolled leather collar will not matt their fur as much around the neck. Is that true? Do you keep the collar while at home?

What an adorable puppy!!! Just a few more weeks and she is YOURS!! Did you know that Sable means Sand in Spanish? Gracie has a doggie friend named Sable who is a liver and white Springer. Ned Doodle met Sable too! I can't believe how curly Sable is at this age. Post tons of photos when you get her!!!

I commented on your blog but will say again. That is one cute puppy. Love the name and I think she fits it.
