my bassetoodle shed very much.  his hair is non tangled so far at 9 months thank goodness.i had him groomed where they scissored him down to 2 inches and he looks much better. in the summer here in Louisiana I don't know if I will shave him down or not,the heat and humidity are so high during the summer months.  we kept him under a fan last summer

One of mine sheds in the brush - or it mats and one sheds all over my world. He is a rescue we got at age two.  He is now almost six and he sheds MORE.

Thank you so much! I have tumbleweeds in my house like crazy, vacuum 3x a week, and its all over my clothes. I expressed i wanted a non shedding dog to the breeder, but looks like I got the complete opposite. I can only hope it calms down as he gets older!!

Yep, I've got a shedder & a matter. Shedding is tumbleweeds around the house, and if he brushes up against you, but not shedding like a cat sheds.

BG, absolutely. If I had to clean it up with a shovel he would still be worth it. :>)

Hi Jennifer, we had a different experience from Karen. Owen shed as a puppy but after his cost change he sheds less. In fact I joined the DK group for shedding doodles but now I would be barely sheds. I don't really understand it. It's just our experience. Kona does not drop hair, but when I brush him there is hair in the brush. Owen does leave a bit of hair on the floor. His shedding is nothing like our Goldens and never was. I have no advice, just explaining our experience. Owen is my granddog and lives with us. Our daughter is a member on DK so I only have Kona's name listed as my dog.

I should add that he didn't shed as a young puppy but started at about 9 mos.

But Q is so sweet and handsome I am sure it is totally worth it :)

Hate to burst your bubble but I have a doodle that sheds and mats.

Wow what a cutie!  I believe Karen is right - either they have the shedding gene or they do no.  On the upside, grooming is a breeze when you have a dog that sheds (no mats and lesser grooming bills).
