Lily passed her CGC test! When we first adopted her as a 7month rescue I had serious doubts we would ever reach this level. Lily has a fiesty personality and was labeled as a party girl in one of her beginning obedience classes but she is maturing at 1 year into a very well behaved young lady. I couldn't be more proud of her progress and had originally thought when pursuing the CGC that this would be the end of training for her, well she surprised me totally during a recent visit from our 4 out of town grandchildren. They are ages 8,7,4 and 1. Lily was great with all the kids but was especially protective and careful of the baby. She followed her circling around until the baby stopped to play then she would llie nearby until she moved again! Because of her temperament this was a new aspect of Lily's personality revealed I was caught off guard by. I will definately reconsider her ability to be a Therapy dog!

How exciting! congrats & good Luck. We love going out & working as a team. I think it brings as much joy to me as it does the patients we visit.

Congrats Zeke and Susan! Now the real fun begins!

I was helping teach our Delta Society therapy dog class today, and there was TWO doodles in class!!! One was Winnie's double, just a bit smaller, and the other was a cute mini GD. I hope they both pass.
There's another GD in our June/July class!!! We will have more therapy doodles. Yay!

Zeke passes his TDI test today!!! Our day started a little rough with Zeke not eating, I even put tuna on his food which he usually devours. He sensed that I was on edge and stayed very close the whole time I was getting ready to leave. When we arrived at the testing site I took some time to get him used to the place and I also seemed to relax some too. When it came our time to test we just acted like it was business as usual and he did great! The only misstep was on the supervised leave he got up from a down-stay to stand and when I came back in the room to stand across from him he broke loose to come to me. The instructor said that because he is so young she wouldn't fault him for it and that he probably would not have done that if she had allowed us to walk directly back to our dogs.(whew! that was a close one!) Overall it was a great experience and very informative in our little lecture at the end of testing. I can't wait to start!

Is that true of the CGC stuff too. It takes about a month. I don't know why I need it, I'd just like it.

Our paperwork took about 5 weeks.

If I remember correctly ...[ for it was 2 years ago] it may have taken 3 to 4 weeks.

We passed the TDI and sent in our paperwork. How long does that take? I'm really anxious to get involved in this. I've contacted someone with a group in my area but she hasn't gotten back to me. Anyway, I think we're all ready to go.
