QUESTIONS REGARDING PUPPY BEHAVIORAL CONCERNS (less than 4 mos of age) are better placed in the Main Forum or the Puppy Madness Groups. Once our Doodles reach the age of four to five months, they are ready to begin their obedience training, and this is the place to share experiences.
I STARTED A NEW CGC COLLAGE, BECAUSE WHEN I ADDED JACK DOODLE AND JAKE THE PICTURES BECAME TOO SMALL TO REALLY SEE....SO NOW WE HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM FOR MORE CGC GRADS!!!!!
Congratulations HATTIE!!!!!

So, the Rally people suggested to me that I should enter Maggie in the show that's coming up at the end of August. They have Rally on Friday, so we could actually do that one day. But I'm looking at…Continue

This week Willow has decided that sitting for exam is terrifying. We've practiced. She will sit and let me go over her like a champ. Feet, ears, tail, teeth. No problem. But when the instructor bent…Continue

I have a 12 week old ALD "grand dog" that visits frequently. Oliver is 8 and tolerates the puppy play fine with no issues at all. Ivy on the other hand was a bit stand offish (as she is with all…Continue

Allyson, you work so hard to make your family successful (both healthy and happy) which is so commendable. You are one of my dog heroes and one that I would love to adopt!
Allyson, you are such a great example of responsible pet ownership (and a great Mom too). I admire all that you've done to make this work for everyone.
Excellent work Allyson! I wish you could give classes for new parents on how to successfully integrate the new baby into a household with established dogs.
Allyson- Great job! And congrats on the "human child" (a little late) I think it is super hard to have a dog around babies (it requires so much more diligence and training on your part!) Karen- where was that rehome doodle? We only have 1 canine kid and are always keeping our eyes out for another!
Karen that upsets me so much. It has not been easy, but honestly, with just a little work and diligence on our part, the problems have really been turned around. Man I just love the dogs so much and would do anything to ensure their success in our family. It is very unfortunate that more people don't take ownership of the problem and realize they do have control over it.
This is such a timely comment, Allyson. Just this morning, I saw a new rehome application for a 10 month old doodle. She is losing her home because she "nipped" the two year old child...when he fell on top of her while she was eating. :(
Thanks for the update Allyson. Glad everyone is doing well on the new program.
Good guy Taquito and Peri, I am really surprised at you.
I know I have been mia on dk lately, but I had to report back about TAquito. Since implementing the Nothing in Life is Free approach, we have had HUGE success. Something is working because in the past week, he has started to allow Charlotte to pet him. Yes, pet him. It's been a long time coming - I first worked on getting him to just leave the situation when she approached if he got uncomfortable. That was working well - very little (to NO) snaps/aggression for the past few months. Then, just in the past week, she has had a few times where she approaches him and pets him. And he lets her. They sit next to each other and she just pets and pets. I am trying to teach Charlotte to pet his side very gently (and no heads of any dogs). She is catching on. Anyway, just wanted to report back to you all and thank you for your support!
We also had a snafu with Peri where she was resource guarding and bit Charlotte. We've fixed that. Nothing of high value around baby. Ever.
