I am taking a moment to brag about my daughter. She just returned safely from a trip to Muscat, Oman (borders Saudi Arabia). She was there for three weeks, traveled the entire way by herself, and had an incredible time. When she told us she was going to Oman, I have to admit I was so worried. She got her PhD in Special Education in July and wants to travel the world. She was able to combine both by taking a temporary position to help teachers in Oman set up an inclusive school. We have had a lot of snow lately and Fudge and Vern want to be out as much as possible. I am the least crafty person you will ever meet and I think my homemade gators prove this once again. Last night, the dogs came in with snow everywhere and we spent a long time getting all the snow off of them. It seems like I have been posting a lot of blogs about Vern and not so many about Fudge (and I apologize to Fudge), but here goes another one. Last night, my DH commented that Vern is like a big, goofy boy and I think he hit the nail on the head. I have had the flu for two days. My two nurses, Fudge and Vern, are very different in their approach. Fudge checks on me constantly to make sure I am ok. Vern runs in briefly, but doesn't want to be detained in any way. He is a busy boy. Luckily, my DH came home early from work to help me out. On January 10, 2011, our little Vern will be one year old. There was a time in my life that I declared that we were not getting any more dogs. It didn't take long for me to change my mind and I started searching for our next dog. I have come upon a sure fire way to stop Vern from drinking from our toilet. Before Christmas, I bought a Talking Snowman holding a plunger. Hallmark makes them and the snowman is motion activated so if anyone goes into our bathroom it starts talking.
