Recently someone asked the question if we would clone our dogs and the unanimous answer was a resounding no. To me, it sounds a little creepy and far-fetched, but then again, when I was growing up I would have never believed that we would be listening to songs on a device no bigger than a credit card and would have the ability to see someone who lived halfway across the country on something called a computer. It sounded just about as preposterous as Maxwell Smart’s shoe phone. …

After Milt's little incident on Sunday, it became apparent that finishing the gate was incredibly imperative. Pop and Jeff got on it, and by very late Monday evening, our new gate was resurrected.…

Last week or so, early in the morning, a dear friend phoned me. She was super excited rambling into my voicemail about a segment on GMA featuring dog clothes. They called it CUSTOM CLOTHES FOR PAMPERED POOCHES. I missed the segment, because I was in the middle of “custom potty walks for two pampered doodles!”
Probably two days later I pulled up the featured story, and thought –…

I hope I'm not violating any guideline by posting this. I don't think I am. I just thought it was a good story and wanted to share. Really it was the fact that my very serious father was the one who sent it to me was the best part.…

Something scary happened on Sunday. It was really scary. That morning was just like any other; I was preparing to walk the Milt, and Jeff's parents, Momeaux and Pop, were in town again to help on our fence. This was the big push to finish the front gate where our cars drive in and out. That was the the one that we really wanted fixed because right now we just have a chain link fence that does not close well, so it is not terribly safe for Milton.
Before we left on the walk,…

After trying for several years to put up temporary puppy enclosures and struggling to keep them inside of those enclosures, I finally got some kennels and put them together to make a play yard for the pups while they are here--I have been picking up some bigger toys for it and also got a big piece of artificial turf to cut down on the mud until the grass grows in...We had to clear the snow off the ground first and then we assembled everything. Here are the pups exploring the new set up and…

On Saturday night, in the middle of the night, I awoke to Milton's nose in my face, and Jeff sitting on the floor next to him. Milton had whined to go potty and, of course, he went to Jeff's side of the bed to ask to go out. It takes me a little too long to wake up and get up! Now they had both returned, and Milton was just a little muddy.…

By now it has to be “Windex” clear that I am completely “done” with winter.
I mean, I’ve whined about it (thanks so much for commiserating with me!) at least a half a dozen times!
With that said, you cannot imagine the celebratory noise I made when I came outside Saturday morning to walk the boys, and saw this…
After our “mini…

The DH took Quincy for a 4 mile walk sometime way before I felt like moving so I got to roll over (haha, I already know that trick)...and then be awakened with the bounding sound of footsteps up to our bedroom and a jump on top of me (my most favorite way to wake up - at least these days-) and then we had some play tug. Then breakfast and off to TRICKS class at the same school we took him for Puppy Kindergarten and Family Dog I. (best place on LI- message me for more info since I…

Last year when I did the MS walk, a DK member suggested that I share the info ahead of time if I planned to do it again. Well once again Duncan Doodle and I will be participating in Walk MS Philadelphia! I was so proud of how well Duncan behaved with all the people, sounds, and smells, but mostly I loved the way he made people smile who were gathered for the cause. He was just a puppy and couldn't walk the whole distance, but I…

Last year, around this time, I did a couple of blogs about my mother and her strong desire to see Neil Diamond in concert.

To begin, start with one goldendoodle and add 20 inches of fresh, clean, new fallen snow.
Mix well for two minutes.

Well, it has been 5 weeks now since i fell and broke my arm in 3 places. I don't think I could do it again if I tried. It was such a freak accident, nobody's fault but my own. the breaks are up near the shoulder, so it couldn't be casted, sling only. I am a righty, and broke my left arm, but u can't believe how much u use your other hand and arm. I can't dress myself, take a shower by myself, and can't wear anything but something that buttons down the front. Ugh, I feel so bad for DH,…

This past weekend, I had plans to visit the First Monday Trade Days in the nearby town of Canton. This is a magnificent flea market spanning across many, many acres of farmland. People set up booth upon booth of their antiquey wares, and sometimes junk, for the public's perusal. I was introduced to this event by two of my good friends, a pair of sisters, and I now tend to go once or twice a year to see what treasures can be found! I always manage to come home…

The question has been asked many many many times before. I'm sure we've all heard it, it's known as the oldest joke in the book! But why DID the chicken cross the road? I mean, we aren't the chicken, so we can't really ever know why. But here is my favorite theory, courtesy of someone on the internet.
One day my uncle was sitting on his couch watching TV, when all of a sudden, an ostrich jumped out from behind…

Go back in time for a moment, not too far – 2006 will do.
Do you remember a book called “The Secret?” It was a best-selling “self-help” book written by Rhonda Byrne. Based on the law of attraction and that “positive thinking can create life-changing results such as increased wealth, health, and happiness.”
No disrespect to those that believe – but I’ve carried positive thoughts all winter that we wouldn’t get snow but it happened! The snow came. Wet,…
