Not too long ago Vern went to the vet and we found out his weight had skyrocketed to 108 pounds. The vet was fine as long as he hovered around 100 pounds, but once she saw the 108, she declared that Vern needed to lose weight. Unfortunately, this is a scene I am all too familiar with in my own life and I was determined to handle this…

We got Boomer, an ALD, last week. He's 9 weeks old now. Such sweetie. I need to change my profile pic to one of him..the first was a generic doodle pic. I followed the instructions and it won't accept any pics even if they fit the guidelines. I'll keep trying. Anyhow, we are totally smitten. What an affectionate puppy. Doing well with pottytraining.Sleeping 4 - 5 hrs at night. Loves his crate1 And his Snugglepet.I think it really helped him adjust. He came from a littler of 9. Was a…

Libby turns THREE!
I’m turning three and I am so excited. My birthday is on March 31st, but my Daddy is having surgery so we celebrated early. Some of my cousins came over to wish me a Happy Birthday. I waited at the door for my family and when they arrived I ran ( zoomies) all over…

Well, after a 3 hour car ride, we made it out to Columbus way earlier than expected. Maybe the excitement made us try faster but it was a nice, and rather quick drive out. Eric drove while I graded papers in the front seat - it was a challenge but at least I got something done because since getting home, no grading has been done and lessons still need to be made for tomorrow - oh the life of a first year teacher.
Anywho, back to Lacey. When we arrived the breeders, Lacey…

Well we are almost done on Sunday with our first week with the girls . They are doing so good on housebreaking, they have gone to the back door and looked back at me, a few times and then I heard them actually cry at the door , they have also played with the bells hanging on the door . They go potty when I tell them outside , I was so amazed at how fast they picked up on the word go potty .I watch them like a hawk ..lol They…

Well, tomorrow is the day that we bring Lacey home. Time has gone so slow and we have been waiting so long for this day to come. We miss her like crazy since that first initial meeting and we cannot wait to see our little ball of fluff again.
That being said, I am feeling this mix of emotions. I'm so so so happy to finally have her home and I am beyond excited. But I can't help but feel really nervous at the same time. I have been running through everything in my head constantly. Do I…

I have to say having (2) 8 week old pups is an experience ! They did well yesterday with the housebreaking ,only a couple of accidents when I looked away for a minute , I keep them in the kitchen because of the tile floor , I was able to catch them while doing it and took them straight out , this morning I had them out well they decided they were done ran to the door and sat to be let in. This morning I found Kiera standing at the…

My mom tells me I'm growing up fast and becoming an awesome doodle. Now don't get me wrong, I still have lots to learn and issues we are continuing to work on. I do know how to sit, lie down, stay, shake, dance, catch balls and fetch I also know how to wait, come, drop it, leave it, and come(most…

In Wednesday’s blog post I hinted that during an “on-sight” product review a few weeks ago, Leo tested a treat and gave it a standing ovation. But I didn’t tell you:

This blog has nothing to do with dogs, other than the fact that my newly pregnant daughter and I have four between us. For those of you that follow my blogs, you know that my daughter and I have a long-standing disagreement about whose dogs are better. We argue about a lot of things like who is smarter and she loves to play her PhD card.…

Today we got the much desired email from our breeder informing us about which pup is ours out of the litter. We got our number one choice - Miss Pink Paws aka Lacey. We are so happy to finally know which one she is. She is beautiful - she has a wavy, thick, cream coat and dark eyes and nose. She weighs about 6 lbs right now. We can't wait to bring her home! She was such a cuddle bug when we were there and our breeder said that she is probably the most cuddly in the bunch. She such grow to be…

MEET JUNIOR! MANY THANKS TO THE DRC FOR SPOTTING HIM ON ONE OF THE MANY SHELTER LISTS.
JUNIOR IS THOUGHT TO BE A DOODLE, BUT, WHO KNOWS ABOUT DOGS WITH NO HISTORY. WHATEVER HIS GENETIC MAKE UP, HE IS PURE CUTENESS AND WE WILL SEE HOW HIS COAT GROWS. WILL HE 'DOODLE OUT?"
My son, Lance, has been looking to adopt his first dog as an adult. He…
