Knock on wood, fingers crossed, our little Milt is officially potty trained! There has been a little accident here and there but no major incidents, so this statement is indeed well founded. Hence, Jeff and I have crafted a comprehensive list to illuminate what worked in our training and could hopefully help you too. Believe me, I know how stressful potty training can be, and if I had known all of these down and dirty tricks from the start, both us and Milt would have been a lot better…

WOW how time flies. Maggie has been with us for a year today.
A year ago today, me and my husband took a drive to CT to pick her up at her foster moms house. Her and I quickly became pals in the first few days. I can't seem to go too far without her following behind me daily.
LOVE HER.
Happy Adoptaversary Maggie!!
To many more years.....

After the Milt has had a bath, his little chicken legs become quite pronounced. He is always in search of some toasty spot where he can curl up and regain his warmth. This time he chose my packed, open suitcase lying on the floor.
My…

“People – Events – Circumstances” can alter ones life completely.
Extraordinary things are happening to a rather ordinary person (me) in ways I would never have imagined! Since the arrival of both “doods”, the inception of the blog, it’s transformation into a new website (coming soon!) along with a monthly newsletter – my life has been simply “euphoric.”
This new chapter in my life seems so surreal at times I find myself both gleeful and humbled by…

Most of you know that I don’t like to be a name dropper, but after I wrote a blog about Words with Friends, I started playing the game with some people right here on DoodleKisses. Sometimes, I have eight to ten games going at a time with family and friends and my love life has taken a hit as I sit in bed every night playing this game. No man likes to hear, “not now, honey, this WWF game gave me a h-e-a-d-a-c-h-e, “ night after night. The other night, he spelled back, “I…

I spend a great deal of time on the internet, on Facebook and on the page I am the moderator on. I usually start out doing a treatment with my stuff and hours later I am still there.
I am fascinated by people's Facebook statuses. Some people post simple about the every day stressors of life... How their kids are driving them crazy, how they can't wait for school to start again, how their job sucks, how their spouse pissed them off......
Somehow for me.. it…

It's that time again! Let's see how much the Milt measures up. When we returned from New York, everyone was astounded by how much this goldendoodle had grown. Jeff and I dug out our earlier chair shots to do a little comparison. Well, it certainly looks like Milt is on track to be one big dog.…

One of my favorite things about my doodle is how much he loves water! It is comical to watch him splash and jump around. I have yet to let him in water that is deep enough for him to swim in, but that's just me worrying too much. I'm sure he would be a fine swimmer :).…

Now “Milo” is not another doodle, Milo isn’t even a pet. Milo happens to be the name of a doggie treat my boys absolutely adore.
Milo’s Kitchen (home style dog treats) so far – has been one of the few treats to actually pass ALL the “treat tests” in our home. Here’s what I’m up against:

It is strange sometimes what you think about when you are walking your dogs. Despite being on high alert for groundhog holes, moving varmints, and in the case of Vern, men in lawn chairs, a lot goes through my mind when I am out with my dogs. I have been a little melancholy lately thinking about my daughter living so far away in Oregon. I hate it and with each passing day it seems as if there is no hope they will ever move closer to home. They moved there for her job, but my son-in-law…

During these long dog days of summer, Milton cannot spend too much time outdoors because it is just too darn hot. So how does he while away his time? Well, Momma, Daddy, and numerous friends have spoiled the Milt with a wide assortment of toys. See the below:…

When Milton and I left for New York, Jeff explicitly stated, "My dog better not come home with any bad habits." See, Jeff has trouble saying our dog, and he thinks my discipline skills are sorely lacking. I concede; he could be right.
While away, I stupidly allowed Milton to climb up on my good friend, Anny's, futon while we watched a movie. The Milt was all sweet, cute, and cuddly, but a bad habit was brewing. If you all recall, Jeff and I have a strict…

I traveled out of town to my brothers birthday celebration. The boys did not go with me. Leo is okay with being away from me, because he has Harley.
But Harley becomes a blues singer…
“My momma done left me – DUM, DA-DA-DUM
Oh what will we do? – DUM, DA-DA-DUM
Not sure when she’s returning – DUM, DA-DA-DUM
So I’m singing the blues…. – (music and a B.B. King wail…)“
What you are about to read is: “the truth, the whole…

My son, Matthew, was a computer science major and worked in the corporate world for some time. Then he took a master's degree at NYU in Interactive Telecommunications. He has been doing independent development of games and apps as well as teaching and writing. Now he has his first game for the Ipad, which is exciting. Here is a trailer about it.

Sadly, bright and early tomorrow morning Milton and I are hitting the long road back down to the deep South. We are certainly sad to go, especially little Milt, who has come to love the great outdoors and greatly bonded with his Grand-Nan.
Surprisingly enough, originally Grand-Nan was not thrilled at the idea of her new, little granddog coming to visit. She thought he might mess on the floor, which he did, only once, but of course he couldn't help it. There was also one incident of…

On Monday DH and I visited a Butterfly "farm" in Massachusetts. Our DS is away at camp for two weeks, and so I'm arranging some day trips to places he would never be caught dead in. DH was being a really good sport about coming with me, although I'm sure it ranked right up there with dental surgery for him. To add insult to injury we had to go right by "Yankee Candle Village" to get there, so yes I did convince him that we needed to stop here. Room after room filled with candles, dishes,…

Little Milt tried to dig a hole to China. I think he actually just piggybacked on a woodchuck's hard work and stole all the credit.
