Today is my birthday! Da, Da Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Daaa! Ok, well I can't sing, but my Mom pretends I can.

So Harper Louise has successfully settled right in to her new home, and I can't believe I've gone this long without her! She is the sweetest little thing, not to mention the cutest and smartest as well. We've only had a couple of pee-pee accidents, and she has already mastered "sit" and is close to knowing "shake". She's also definitely a little Velcro puppy, if she can't see either Zach or I, she yelps like no other, and I can't take a single step without almost tripping over her, as she's…

Someone was asking if dogs are natural swimmers. Well I don't know about all dogs but my 10 week old puppy fell in the pool today. Finn was running after Yankee and DH heard a splash. He went to look and Finn was swimming to the steps and got out on his own. Whew! Good thing I wasn't there, I would have freaked. Not sure how Finn felt about it.
You decide!…

We have had a couple of close calls with Neely getting out of our yard and running away. Our fence is not the problem it is the humans that close the fence. Neely has come home each time he has been called for but who knows how far he got or if he crossed our busy road and just got lucky.
I have been wanting to get an electric fence and my husband didn't want to. I lost it at him after the last little adventure Neely had. So he got one and we installed it today.
The wire is in and you…

We were at the dog park today (after practicing sit, down, stay and come) for some down time. Harlow was ‘chilling out’ with the other dogs when a ‘Shetland Pony’ joined the pack. Lola is a 10 month old, all legs and slobber, beautiful, HUGE harlequin Great Dane. Lola took an immediate interest in Harlow as she was one of the few dogs in the park fast enough to keep up with her ground swallowing strides. The girls ran around and around the park, sometimes bowling over the other dogs attempting…

Harlow has been in the deep south only since April but she already knows…
Southern women appreciate their natural assets:
Clean skin.
A winning smile.
That unforgettable Southern drawl.
Southern women know their manners:
'Yes, ma'am.'
'Yes, sir.'
'Why, no, Billy!'
Southern women have a distinct way with fond expressions :
'Y'all come back!'
'Well, bless your heart.'
'Drop by when you can.'
'How's your…

2 steps forward and 3 steps back.....
This morning Hershey took a few steps back in the "Dogs don't soil in their dens" department. We woke to take our sweet puppy out, only to find him standing in his poops and tinkle. Apparently, in the middle of the night he pooped twice and tinkled, laid in it and walked through it, creating a "pinkle" mess in his kennel and his fur. We never even heard a peep out of him all night. The last time he was out was after midnight. He's not had an…

... and our little Doodle is definitely home!! Just got back from bringing her to the yard to potty, she's back in the crate and crying at me. We didn't get home from the airport until after 2:00 AM (delayed flights, customs issues... poor girl in her carrier all day) and she was in her crate by about 3:00. Lily slept beautifully until now, and is trying to figure out how many times she has to whimper and squeal before she's allowed to come out and play!
Lily really is a beautiful…

Today i learned of the resone to Blonkas death. I was not exspecting it at all. Blonka was killed by a pit bull in her own yard. The naburs dog got out a shook her to death.
This is Tillys mom. I am sad to say but today i found out that one of the little dogs i watched about 2 weeks ago passed away.
Her name was Blanka and she was a wire hair jack rustle age 6 years. I have not yet talked to the owner as my mom works with her and was the one that told me.
The…

Success! Harlow finally rang the bells on the back door by herself to let me know she needed to go outside. Progress at last. I am teleworking today and was sitting at the kitchen counter when I heard the bells. My first thought was 'what was that', my second thought was 'OMG, it is the bells'. I turned around to see Harlow standing at the back door. I quickly jump up to let her outside and tell her what a wonderful dog she was. She even did her…

My neighbour's cat (Chili) has been visiting us daily for about 3 years now. Before Yankee, he had the run of the place, napping, snacking etc. When Yankee arrived, Chili decided to make friends with him so he wouldn't lose all the perks of his second home. When it rains or is too cold, he comes here. He has slept here many times overnight. My first picture shows Chili making friends with Yankee. He would come and eat Yankee's food all the time.
Now along comes Finnegan to join our…

My goodness, it has been so long since I have been on Doodlekisses :( Dylan's swimming schedule has kept me quite busy these days. I did start the Clicker training, but yet have to finish with Bear. I have been working on walking him with his Gentle Leader and Clicker................this seems like a great combination for him :)
I miss you all my friends and I apologize for not being on these past few months. I am going to try my hardest to be on more before school starts back up…

I am just pleased that today Neely and I had a long trip up town and around our river and park system. I drove the scooter we have and had Neely stay along side me and get used to it and also did some regular training as well. He did really well running along side the scooter. He did stray a few times across the path in front of the scooter and tryed to get to the other side. I had him walk on the left like he would for the heel position.
I could see he was having such an internal struggle…

Hi Dianne,
You have a beautiful website.
I'd like to know if you, or friend of a friend know of any Doodle
groups in the N. FL area. I'm in Jacksonville.
We're lucky enough to have some dog parks and most beach allow dogs, so we do get to socialize - but want to know about Doodle groups.
Thanks,
Gail
