Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
A few weeks ago, the Milt and I were on one of our many, many walks throughout our apartment complex. Characteristic of the two of us, we got in someone's way, and I noticed that this young lady was carrying the same dog food brand that we use. I apologized for the Milt blocking her staircase, and the conversation went something like this:
"Oh don't worry; I have a dog too," the young lady said.
"Really? What kind?" I asked.…

I’m an August baby, therefore it makes good sense to me that I am in “full bloom” during the summer months. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy each of the four seasons, but July and August just keep me excited!
Summer weekends are the BEST! And for my “doodle family” the backyard is always the perfect recipe for us to carve out some time to RELAX! To…

Take a close look at the photograph below. Notice anything different? Is there something shockingly new about the Milt? Yes - you go it! Milton the goldendoodle has a big boy collar on! Momma and Daddy are so proud. …

Dear Fudge & Vern, this is Rooney and boy do I have a bone to pick with you. I have come to believe that your mom is a very bad influence on my mom. It was bad enough that those two are taking a cruise while leaving us doods home - carousing about, having adventures and probably some frozen cocktails, but then your parents had to go get you a boat, and trust me - even though I HATE water, I was happy for you guys, cute pictures,…

A swimming pool for cockroaches. What am I referring to? Milton's water bowl. Over the course of the past two weeks, I have seen three, count them THREE, gigantic cockroaches in our apartment.
Saturday night, one of them even made skin to skin contact with me on our couch
- shocking, horrific, and utterly traumatizing. Really. Cockroaches destroy me.…

Before leaving the apartment today, the boyfriend and I made sure the place was "dog-proof". Ipad, kindle, phones, purses, etc. were all out of a dog's reach. Approximately an hour later, we came home to a living room covered in tiny plastic pieces, which turned out to be the PS3 controller, and pages of torn paper. I instantly dropped to the floor and starting cleaning, without saying a single word to Hops, and he ran straight to his crate and stayed there until I called for him. How did he…

Today we decided to head up into Logan Canyon, a very pretty place a few minutes from where we live. It has special meaning to us, DH proposed to me there and we visited it every chance we got. This time I thought I'd try to get some nice photos of Darwin there, since it's so shady and nice. Darwin would also enjoy being outside and exploring.
Darwin has been busy practicing obedience and has been doing wonderful! We found a really nice open space to practice stays, recalls…

Jeff and I both come from families of four children. One would think someday we might aspire to have four children of our own. As with anything, I always say start with one - one chocolate chip cookie before you eat another, one playful puppy prior to that second playful puppy, one glass of wine ahead of sipping a second, etc. For now, we are just fine - Jeff, me, and the Milt. Someday, who knows; however, I can easily envision a scene like the one below.…

DH found a little dog outside last night as he was leaving to go to a friends house. of course, he calls me to catch it. The dog had a collar but no tags, but I recognized him
His name is Buttons, perhaps a yorkie mix. Hes almost a year old, and belongs to a somewhat crazy woman on the 3rd floor. She always acts as if Cooper will eat her Buttons, although Buttons loves Cooper and Cooper is totally overwhelmed by him jumping up at her and is…

In celebration of our one year wedding anniversary/DH's birthday/Labor Day weekend we decided to take a mini-trip to Pismo Beach, Ca. It's about a 3 hour drive from Los Angeles.
I couldn't decide what to do with Zoe & Ben.
-Board them at a day care? Ben seems too young and needs to be socialized more before I can let him on his own. And it seems like it's too many days he might freak out.
-Board them with our vet? But they are only let out 3 times a day and…

I remember the first day of Fourth Grade like it was yesterday. The teacher walked into the classroom and said, “Can anyone tell me who was buried in Grant’s Tomb?” WHAT? I sat there in a panic, praying and thinking, “Please don’t call on me! Please don’t call on me.” I mean, how was I supposed to know who was buried in Grant’s Tomb on the first day of school. Did we have a summer assignment that I didn’t know about? Finally, I calmed myself down and figured if I had the misfortune to…

Lately Milton seems to have more appointments than I do - parvo shot, rabies shot, and now microchipping. It takes a lot to keep this goldendoodle boy up to snuff! Basically, Jeff and I decided to take the microchip plunge, so we could ensure the Milt's safety. When you love your dog an awful lot AND you paid an awful lot of money for that dog, you want to make certain that you can keep close tabs on his whereabouts at all times.
To be frank, I originally did not grasp the…

Well, Jeff and I just couldn't resist our irresistible goldendoodle and completely capitulated - we bought Milton a doggie bed for Christmas. Some lucky, little boy is getting to use it early...…
