I passed my AKC Star Puppy Class. The class ended a few weeks ago, but mom really wanted to recognize this achievement and registered so I would get a certificate and a medal. I loved the Star Puppy class. Mom tells me that in a few months we will do an AKC Good Citizen test. I really like going to "school" with my mom. While I am waiting for my surgery my Momma left me her iPad to type to you all on! The human grandkids and family were out here visiting from Boston. I liked having them here but then I was taken to the Dog Ranch where I stay when my parents travel. Then they all left in two cars to drive to the High Sierras (Mammoth) for 7 days. We survived the first 2 weeks of having a puppy! It's been one of the most challenging times I have ever experienced in my recent history. Floyd is doing great though and learning fast. He has most of the basics down: Sit, Down, Come, Wait and a few others. He gets "Leave It" about 50% of the time without a treat right at his nose. We went on a weekend trip to visit my Grandma and Grampa and for Mom and Dad to attend a family wedding. It was a long car ride, almost 6 hours but we stopped often and Mom made me really comfortable in the back seat. She even gave me a pillow to lay on because I like to lay up against the door and Mom didn't think I looked very comfortable. We took Darwin to the dog park yesterday, and the most hilarious thing happened. There was a Pit named "Princess" there, and her owners were a nice couple with a cute little girl. They were having a fun time watching the dogs play, and the girl (who was 4 or 5) was especially excited about their antics. Rusty celebrated his 2nd birthday yesterday! Twelve of his dog park friend’s parents celebrated his birthday with him; he was very appreciative to see them, as he misses them as much as their dogs. Rusty was the perfect host and they all marveled over how well he is doing.
