and then get a sweet smelling perfectly coiffed doodle back from the groomer with a festive holiday bandana around his neck…

Duncan and I are doodlesitting today for Harry a goldendoodle. He's spending the night. His first night away from home and from his "pack". He's come a few times for just the day and it's been fine so let's see how the night time goes. He's a great boy. Barks a ton though. And being used to Duncan who's only 29 pounds (that's duncan mooning you in the picture) just getting used to big doodle things like when they jump up to hug you and almost knock you over and dripping water…

Duncan and i tagged along with my niece and nephew and family today for some trick or treating and got to meet 2 other doodles that came from the same breeder as he did. My brother's dog is also from the same breeder and i guess it's all word of mouth in that neighborhood.....Cody was a larger chocolate dood and maggie, a 6 month old miniature red. oh boy i was all smiles. I have to say i think i am a doodle snob. I don't get excited to see non-doodles. And i'm watching a friend's golden…

Duncan and I went to the beach again today. He still wasn't interested in the water but enjoyed digging deep into the sand. Then we came across 1 other dog and IT WAS ANOTHER LABRADOODLE!!!! The dood's name was Seaweed. AWWW. He was jumping waves to fetch a stick. I was hoping Duncan might get a little more interested this time. But he watched comfortably from the sand and decided it's still not for him. So he went back to diggin in the sand and trying to bury a…

OK so here i am at this quaint little cottage in Cape May, NJ (the Jersey Shore). Just me and Duncan.
The cottage was advertised and "more than dog friendly" and boy were they right! There were food and water bowls, a dog bed, toys, leashes and a pooper scooper when i arrived. And the house is decorated with the cutest dog accent photos and books. And a lamp that is filled with milkbones!!! (see pic).
It's so lovely and Duncan is enjoying an evening snooze now as the crickets…

So my boy had a "ruff" night monday with that kennel cough mayhem. We were up until 3am as he hacked and yakked. But yesterday things were so much better and his coughing really only occurred mildly after walks. And by mid-day he wanted to play. His sad eyes turned into happy eyes. I think it was the small tidbit of steak i put in his dish. He polished off his meals. Last night he slept straight through with no coughing and this morning just a small cough again after our walk. I am thrilled…

so i was at the home of a friend on Friday who has 2 German Shortair Pointers....They were both very sick with kennel cough. I left Duncan home. And when I got home I quickly washed up and changed my clothes just in case. Well apparently that didn't work. He just started coughing suddenly tonight (3 days later). My poor boy. It's so sad. I'm bringing him to vet tomorrow. I know it just has to run its course in most cases but i'd rather err on the side of caution and have him checked…

my good friend just rescued this fluff-a-muffin. She know's he's part poodle but they aren't sure mixed with what. His name is Bailey and he's already a year old so my guess is that the mixed with part is a small type breed. Duncan is going to meet him on Thursday for their first play date. We're on our way now to the pet store to pick out some toys. YAY!!!…

So i work from home most of the time and duncan usually hangs in my office with me. but last friday i had to work in the city and i dropped duncan off at my friends' office that is pet friendly. He loves to "work" there. His strength is paper shredding....well there were 6 dogs there that day and they decided to take a picture of the whole gang....the water cooler clique.
Left to right: Nora a rescue wirey terrier mix, Riley a black pug and Duncan's best buddy, Duncan Doodle, Enzo the…

So here's a couple of pictures of Duncan yesterday (at an outdoor pet-friendly bar mind you.) before his grooming and one from today after he was "coiffed"....Both his groomer and I have noticed that it seems his adult coat is coming in much woolier/curlier in some areas. Especially the back of his head and neck.
It's amazing how cute he looks both with the shaggy dreads and the puff ball coiff.
He's just about a year and a half so i realize that the puppy coat…

Duncan and I go to the dog park frequently as I posted about my addiction a few months ago.
Well I am happy to report that two great things have happened.
1. Duncan now plays with big dogs too. (he was usually only interested in smaller dogs) It's been wonderful to watch him gain the confidence to chase a boxer or a husky or a mastiff even. I giggle every time. I knew it'd be hard for him to find his place in the middle. He's too big for the little dogs. He's 25 pounds and really a…

So Duncan Doodle was playing with his GS Pointer friend Bailey. There was think Kong Frisbee that had been chewed at a lot for a long time at the dog park until all that was left was a ring (the whole middle was chewed out). Bailey wore it around his neck and Duncan decided he HAD to get it. He eventually did succeed. See video attached

I drove 9 hours total that day to pick up my 11 week old pup Duncan. I am still in the "honeymoon stage". This dog is my life.
Here is a pic of him only minutes after I picked him up. and a pic of him this morning.

I went out for dinner with my family last night and left Duncan home. and when i pulled up my block at 8pm there was a sqaud car in my driveway and 7 fire trucks on the block. I went into complete panic mode.
Luckily my house was fine. It was my neighbor's house that had the fire. Apparently their dishwasher went on fire....and it wasn't even on!!!
The one thing I always know about Duncan is that even though i have a tri-level condo he spends most of his alone…

Duncan is one lucky boy....I've become addicted to taking him to the dog park. He takes a long time to warm up there so we've been going for 2 hours a day. I am really falling behind with my work, my chores and my running....
And the best part is that there is a guy who comes (don't know his name yet) who I have a crush on. Perhaps that is part of the reason I'm addicted to the dog park:) This guy has 2 german shorthair pointers named Bailey and Kona.…

First Duncan got to appear in the NY Daily News with his Fetch! Petcare "mom".
And now he got to appear in a small segment on PBS's Nightly Business Report with her again.
Here's the link. You have to fast forward to about 18:45 once the gray bar moves all the way from left to right to actually see his 10 seconds of fame.…

well...chicken and rice for the last day or so has helped trememdously and Duncan's DOOdle is back to normal. For that I am thrilled....but now i'm noticing that his breath smells like DOO! Yes. It's bizarre. I'm wondering if this is related at all. It's been off now for the last few days. I kept thinking it was his rear end that was stinkin' but it's his breath. And even his toys after they get slobbered on smell poopie.
Hypothetically speaking...lets say he ate a piece of his or…
