Now I know not everyone likes snow but I happen to be one of those that do. Some however seem to have had enough. This is a sign outside of a church in town. Glad someone has a sense of humor.

I'm 2 today, no longer a puppy.:<( A fun day playing in the snow with Mom, a birthday cake made of cookies, Dad cooking salmon for my supper and some new toys and treats, all these make for a good day, now if only Mom hadn't made me wear this stupid hat. If I find that thing alone, it's history.

More dog humor or wisdom depending on your point of view.
On the first day God created the dog.
• On the second day, God created man to serve the dog.
• On the third day, God created all the animals of the earth to serve as potential food for the dog.
• On the fourth day, God created honest toil so that man could labor for the good of the dog.
• On the fifth day, God created the tennis ball so that the dog might or might not retrieve it.

It's Murphy's 1st birthday today! (Ronna and Murphy) His mom didn't post it so we are doing it because we know all Murphy's doodle buddies want to wish him a happy birthday. We also copied a cute birthday photo from his page. So a big Happy Birthday Murphy, hope it is a fun one.

Although this is not Thanksgiving I think it is a good time to be thankful. I am thankful for my doodle everyday, I am thankful that he is a good dog. I am thankful that he is healthy and happy. I am thankful that off leash he never wanders off, always stays in sight and if I am lagging behind he will stop and wait for me. He comes when he is called even when there is another dog involved. He is gentle with children and doesn't jump on people when greeting them. He doesn't bolt when the…

I recently had the priviledge of preceptoring a student practical nurse for her 6 weeks of pregraduation clinical experience, this is the little ornament she gave me as part of a thank you gift. Do you think I may have talked about the doodle just a little? I love it and it was very thoughtful and now there will always be a doodle on my tree.…

I went to see the Santa Claus parade today with my mom and dad, all the little kids were giving letters to Santa and I think we need to do the same. So all of you good little boy and girl doodles it's time to write those letters and tell Santa what you would like for christmas this year. Be sure and tell Santa a little about yourself and your most favorite things. I don't know what I would like besides lots of tennis balls so I am looking for some…

National Geographics Travelers Magazine has selected Newfoundland's Avalon Penisula as its top rated coastal destination.
The magazine's November issue says the peninsula, the easternmost point in North America, is a "blustery realm" that is home to "brightly painted fishing villages and the lively city of St. John's."
The magazine says visiting the Avalon is "like going back in time — close-knit communities, a strong local…

These are a few pictures of Quincy in his Halloween costume. You can tell by the last picture what he thought of the whole thing. We are thinking about Trick or Treating for our local food bank if it is a nice day on Halloween. How could anybody say no to that face? Quincy's costume cost a total of $3.75 at the dollar store, now we just have to come up with a costume for mom and a wagon to carry our loot.…

This is just one of the many road washouts that happened
on Tuesday when Hurricane Igor tore through the eastern portion of Newfoundland, there was major flooding and wind damage. Three days later and many roads are washed outt leaving many communities totally isolated. Many people are still without electricity and running water. For two days the main highway was closed due to a 60 ft wide washout. The damage and devastation is so wide spread that…

We are currently being pounded by Hurricane Igor, tons of rain and lots of wind. There has been a lot of flooding and some roads are washed out. Several communities have declared states of emergency. The main highway across Newfoundland is closed due to washout conditions. So far we have not lost power but that is likely to change. We are totally ok where we are and the only problem we have is minor. I always take Quincy out on a leash to potty and today I tried sending him out on a long…
