I do believe I have the best puppy in the whole world....OK, perhaps that is stretching it a bit too far...perhaps in Nebraska...OK, for sure in our house! She has been here 8 nights and unless I get up to go "potty", she sleeps through the night. If she hears me get up, she'll make 1 little bark. I figure I might as well take her out while I am up. If my DH gets up in the middle of the night, she doesn't, but will start stirring around 5:44.

There must be something wrong with Rua. Starting her second night home, she sleeps through the night (the first night I got her up at 2AM because I had to go potty). I, on the other hand, find myself laying there awake waiting for her to cry. She is sleeping like a log and I am a walking zombie during the day...how fair is that?

Well, Rua decided that she was going to climb the stairs yesterday. DH didn't think that would happen yet, but, where there is a well, there is a way. It is really cute watching her short little legs take her from stair to stair. The top stair (bringing her to the main level of a ranch) is wood, so she slipped and slided just a bit.

After much anticipation, we FINALLY picked Rua up yesterday. We arrived at our breeder, Whispering Pines Kennel in Hull IA around 3:30pm (2-3/4 hour drive from Omaha). She was in their house and ready for us (freshly bathed and smelling puppy fresh). I brought a small towel to rub over Rua's puppy mommy, Mary Ann, and her littermates, so we took care of that before we hit the road.

I joined Doodle Kisses last Monday, 9/13. I have come to realize that there was never a BDK in my life (Before Doodle Kisses). I am slowly becoming aware that all of my previous connections in life have been meaningless. I have found the place that I belong. I will try to make sure I feed my husband, keep the house somewhat picked up and keep clean underwear in our dresser drawers. Oh how my life has changed. BTW...picking up my little girl this Friday afternoon! SO EXCITED!

Only 8 more nights until our little girl, Rua, comes home. She weighs about 4-5 pounds right now (estimated by the breeder). The Dremel came today, as well as Clickers and the Clicker training book I ordered. I might of also stopped by Michael's and picked up $114 worth of scrapbooking materials (not sure what I was thinking...I am an accountant...but the stuff is SOOOO cute). This is my first blog post and I am thrilled to have a place to share my excitement in getting our new puppy. My husband, family and friends are going to be glad that I have found a place to express myself because I am sure I am driving them all crazy right now. Rua (Irish/Gaelic for red-haired) is a F1B Mini Goldendoodle and was born on 7/27/2010. We will pick her up on Friday, 9/24/2010 in Hull IA (150 miles from Omaha).
