Rosco is getting invitations from cheerleaders...

I shared this with the therapy group, but I had to add it here too because it was just too cute:

One of Rosco's library kids (8-9 y.o.?) was so cute this week. At the end of her session she asks me "have you heard of the Blueridge [local elementary school]cheerleaders?" She proceeds to tell me that she is one of them and apparently they are having some kind of show coming up and that "anybody can come!" She tells me several times "anybody can come." Rosco got around today---and now I have one pooped doodle!

My lazy big boy Rosco got his exercise for the week today!!!

First, a hike with labradoodle puppy Noulli after lunch. Noulli is completely adorable :-) He is really into rocks and managed to carry a rather large one for quite a distance very proud of himself. Maybe Trasa will upload a video (hint, hint, hint!)

Rosco played a sheep today

This morning at the dog park (I only had Rosco with me) a cute six month old blue merle border collie decided Rosco looked like a small cow/large sheep. Every time I threw the ball for Rosco, the BC gave chase with no interest in the ball itself. When Rosco would lie down to chew on the ball, the BC would hunker down about 6 feet in front of him and watch him intently... Healthy as a horse--only slightly smaller.

Rosco and I had a lovely day today :-)

First, we got to meet with Trasa and her almost 11 week old labradoodle puppy, Nouli. I was a little concerned about how Rosco would play with such a tiny puppy... But he did well. Nouli is a doll and I feel like I'm getting a glimpse of Thule at that age (we got her at 11 months). Nouli might even end up a little bit scruffier then Thule.

Adventures on Stray Street

Each year I probably find or see a total of 10-12 dogs running around without an owner. Last year I spotted a huge dog who I thought I knew and without a second thought hopped out the door in a pair of Clark's boxer shorts and a tee shirt to lure him into my yard. It was Xander, my friend's Leonberger who'd wandered out of his yard a couple blocks down the road.

I have animal control on speed dial.

My Mom got a new DOG...not a doodle, but a...

BORZOI!!!

They looked into the Gentle Giants rescue since they live in the neighboring town, but I think it was too expensive ($900 for a rescue!)

So my stepdad through some other website found one in a shelter a couple towns away. She's 6 years old and her owner was ill or getting too old to give her the care she needed.

We FINALLY Have a Dog Park in Town!!

Our Dog Park's Grand Opening was THIS past Saturday. Started with the 2nd Annual Dog Stampede and we all walked from one end of the people park all the way to the Dog Park. We now have a 2 acre area that is really nice!

I have the BEST DOG SITTER EVER!

It happened again...after being gone Friday night through this afternoon...we came home to a mowed backyard! AND he swept and cleared off our front porch (we had been busy and had a few giant boxes hiding out there (out of view of passerby but driving me crazy in MY view)). And our dogs were alive and well :-)

He's Clark's cousin's hubby and he dog sits for us (stays at our house as his work is 5 minutes from hour house...1 hour from his home) and it makes him feel like he "earned"… Continue

Rosco and Thule's Friday Play Date....

Friday, early evening, I took Rosco and Thule to a friend's house for a little play date with her Great Dane, Zorro

and Amaya the Moodle (mutt x poodle cross)

Thule was a bit snarky with poor young Zorro and vehemently turned down every one of his attempts to play

My Incredibly Shrinking Momma (By Rosco P. Canine)

When I went in search for a momma I told my breeder I wanted a standard sized, BIG MOMMA!

And when I first got her...she was indeed quite LARGE

Six weeks later I began to think that perhaps my breeder had overestimated her size potential

OHIO and UK doodles in need of new homes!

1) IDOG (International Doodle Owner's Group) has a very sweet male labradoodle needing rescue immediately. He is sick and running a fever, but tested negative for parvo. He has an upper respiratory infection, and is on medicine. If anyone can open their home to this guy so he can get well, email rescue@idog.biz --

My Doodle Date

Today I met Barb and Nancy for the first time at Chipotle Grill in Roseville. Barb has...6 (?) doodles at home, one of which (Meadow) will be a breeding dog and I was so excited to meet the 16 week old today! Nancy owns two doodles: Lilly and Daisy and they are both breeding dogs for whom she is a guardian.
