Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

In my house whenever you look at Achilles, he is always leaning/resting his head on something. It could be the coffee table a cushion your leg etc... We always joke when we see him. Is your head to heavy to hold up Killy? When I think back to the other dogs that I have had over the years Houdini, a labradoodle also had a heavy head. My German short hair pointer and my german shepard not so much that I can recall. Does your doodle have a heavy head too?

Murphy's whole body must be heavy then, cus it is laying down right along with his head every time. He doesn't just lay his head alone on anything, although that would be cute to see.

When we first got Clancy, he did not chin rest on anything, but Ned and Gordie taught him well... And now they all three look for fuzzy balls to rest their chins on.

Wilson does the same with propping his head on anything..even the family cat!  I've noticed in the mornings when I'm waking up and he jumps up in bed with me..rests his head on me..It's heavy!!  Like to think its the weight of all the doodle brains they have to lug around!  lol

I was just teasing Trav about having a heavy head!  When he doesn't want to move or have his head lifted, he can make it weigh a zillion pounds.  He carries his head high, but when he puts it on your knee and thinks he should be petted, that head seems to be made of lead.  LOL

Now that you mentioned it, Vern does lay his head on a lot of stuff.Fudge, on the other hand, is light all over :)Anna, Even in your profile picture, Achilles is resting his cute, heavy head.

Yup, Murphy has a HUGE head and he often sleeps at the bottom of the stairs with his head resting on the first step and his body on the floor.  He also loves to rest his head on a pillow.  Maybe it is heavy!

Maybe. :-) He doesn't rest his head on things as much as he always holds his head low. It is fairly rare that I see him raise his head above his shoulders. He always seems to be holding it level to his shoulders or even lower. I doubt this is because it's heavy but I do wonder if it's some personality thing. Or maybe that is normal, I just feel like other dogs seem to hold their heads a lot higher than he does. ?
