Why Can't They Just Let Sleeping Doodles Lie?

OMD!  Why is it that when poor Tori lays down to rest or sleep, everyone needs to go over to her and disturb her!  No matter what, "someone" will pass the poor girl and poke or prod her.  They'll start petting her, lifting her ears, whispering sweet NOTHINGS in her ears!  Yes!  She IS cute while she's sleeping (of course she's cute when she's a wake too), but WHY do 'they' feel the need to have to tell her that while she is sleeping?!  'They' think it's hysterical how 'they' can lift up her paws or head while she's resting and she just let's them and doesn't move.  She just lets them lift, poke, prod, etc!  Haven't 'they' ever heard of "letting a sleeping baby sleep"?  JEEZ!   I can't even begin to find out what 'they' would do if 'someone' did that to them.  "Someone" may just try it one day!

GUILTY!!!! I do this to Chloe, she lets you flop her legs up and down and tickle her feet it's cute! If it's bed time they always get a big squeeze sleeping or not! Shelly-send your boys over to do this to Myla when she's sleeping-they will learn, DH FINALLY did. If you wake her or startle her, she goes tazmanian devil on you growling, snapping , slappingyou with her paws. Not so fun to play with Myla while she's in a sound sleep!

We generally respect our dogs when they sleep as Murphy startles easily and Bella, well, wake Bella and you have a doodle stare down on your hands, cus she thinks you now want to play. But I have to admit, I just can't help but give them both a good night belly rub and a hug before I go to bed too, even if they are sleeping. But then Murph is usually sleeping on my side of the bed with my pillow, so I have to wake him a little. :)

I am a little guilty of doing this, if Quincy is close enough to touch well I just can't help myself. I seldom pass by him without touching him or giving his ears a little rub.

Even though Tori's a "big girl" now, I still need to be on and watchful most of the time she is up.  I still do enjoy that peaceful time when I don't have to throw a ball or entertain her. But what gets ME is you should see how "happy" my boys are when THEY are disturbed from their sleep!  LOL

My monkey just gets annoyed and gets up and moves. She doesn't like being man handled when she's sleepy. :o)

My family does this to Lily and it makes me mad because if she is calm and quiet or sleeping, it means I don't have to watch her like a hawk. It seems like just as she settles down for a nap, and I can enjoy some time free from puppy watching, somebody comes up, pets her and tells her how cute she is. Then she is wide awake......

I will let her take her afternoon nap in the crate.. but any other time that she is sleeping, I pick her up and put her on my lap and let her sleep there and brush her and touch her feet , her ears, her tail... I think tis because its the only time I can do that without her teeth trying to get me.

That is funny! I'm guilty of that with Hercules, but with Zeus ... I'm beginning to wonder if he ever sleeps. Any movement whatsoever (even just twirling my hair) and he jumps right up and lands at my feet. He's like my shadow - can't even go potty without him joining me. I guess he's still trying to adjust to his new home. It's only been about 3 weeks since I kidnapped him from his siblings.
