Thank you so much for answering my question... your comments are very helpful. I know we are making it small enough but I have not heard about buying one with smaller links. That is an excellent suggestion. I decided today to return the collar and the store was very generous in giving me a credit since I didn't have my receipt. I will contact Owen's trainer to get the kind we had no troubles with. Thanks again.
Hi Carol. I have been using a prong collar on Owen. My 2 yo grandson lost the collar over the holiday. (long story) I bought a replacement collar that had a quick release clip that released when I didn't want it to. It also tangled in Owen's fur. I have read some posts saying that the quick release collar's are dangerous. I am wondering which prong collar you use. I have to take this one back because it is clearly not right for our dog. Thanks for your help.
