YES!!!!!!!!
I am having trouble with searching for the past discussions. Can anyone help with that?
I purchased the Silver Plan with GoPetPlan.com with $200 deductible and 0 copay. It is not for the yearly visits and vaccines - it is for the unknown and the emergencies.
I have had to use it only once. got back my check within 2 weeks. Read the fine print - the Emergency clinic and specialists are reimbursed at 75%. For me - I pray that I 'waste' my money every year!!
DH and I are in the process of choosing a plan right now and I have to say that I am slightly confused. We are looking at the gold or silver plan, with gopetplan.com. Does it cover things like ear infections, tooth extractions, torn paw pads, etc? Or does it just cover things like car accidents, broken legs, etc? The description on the site doesn't seem to be very clear. When it says you are reimbursed... does that mean that you have to pay the money initially at the vet and they will send you a check later? Because if so... that is a problem. I don't have 8,000 dollars sitting around, period the end...
I hope I'm not hijacking this discussion... but I would really love some help!
My understanding of Go Pet Plan is that they cover anything other than normal, annual vetting that is taken care of by your vet or an emergency vet at whatever deducible and co-pay that you select as long as it isn't a preexisting condition. That would mean if Darwin had already been to your vet with an ear infection, they might consider that a pre existing condition and not cover I'm not sure. However, if you get refered to a specialist (like a cancer dr.) then the reimbursement is at a slightly lower amout (I think it was 75%, but could be wrong). It is reimburseable after payment, but from what others have said the reimbursement is fairly quick. I think probably what most people do is use a credit card to cover until the reimbursement comes in. I would guess I would be able to get my vet to show it paid and then take the payment when I received it, but then I'm very small town here.
Anytime I've had a question and sent them an e-mail, I've always gotten an answer fairly quickly. I've never tried calling as I just prefer having things like that in writing so I can refer back to them when my "old" brain can't remember what they said.
