Ginger is being spayed next week and she will come home with the dreaded "Cone of Shame"
How does one fit the dog, through the crate opening, or for that matter, in the crate with such a fashion accessory?
These are the things I think about, while I am wide awake at 3:00AM.
Thanks for any advice

Dex had knee surgery 8 weeks ago. He had to be in a cone for 2 weeks. We took the cone off before he exited the crate and only put the cone one once he was back in it. It was sad because he would try to sit up with it on and would smack the cone into everything.
If you are able to supervise your doodle, you may be able to do a tee shirt or shorts to cover the incision rather than a cone. We had no such options for a knee.
Poor Dexter! What a good doodle sport!
Quincy could not fit in his crate and turn around with his cone on, it was at this point he started sleeping in our bedroom. I kept the cone off as much as I could as he kept hooking it on the stairs and banging into everything. There is a soft cone you can get that looks a lot more comfortable. It's available on Amazon.com or if you are crafty you could even make your own.
there are several different types of cones you could try - maybe take Ginger into the store before surgery to test them out
