Seriously, the groomer just turned this super cool labradoodle:

Into this super fru-fru Queen Victoria-ish/Japanese Poodle:

All I wanted was this regular dog short, simple cut:

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go buy a Gucci purse so I can be seen in public with him.

Omg hahaha! This post and your captions for the pictures make me laugh! I think he still looks cute though!
I'm sorry! That's why I fo all my grooming myself.

Aww! He still looks adorable and seems very happy with the new look!

Oh, but he still is adorable anyway!

Few groomers know how to groom a Labradoodle properly. I've lived the nightmare with both my doodles transitioning from gorgeous coats to a poodle cut with sculpted face, head and body.  All they were missing was nail polish on their toe nails.   I finally have a groomer that doesn't scalp them and knows what a column leg cut/ bear leg cut is.  I feel your pain.  You doodle is still cute and will grow out to normalcy in a few months.  It's very frustrating.

My Millie was a very dark fudge color with gorgeous waves until a groomer pretty much shaved her.  She was not matted either.  Her coat grew back without waves and gray hair mixed in.  She is no longer a fudge color.  Made me sick because my goal was to have this gorgeous chocolate doodle for many years.  Finally got one and a groomer shaved her down.  Oh well.  Millie is still cute and very lovable.

He is so adorable and does look very pleased with his new do. Just take a spray bottle and spritz him down with water and you should see poofy disappear and curls reappear.

that would simmer down the pouf on the top of his head. The cut should grow in about 3 months.
He looks quite handsome either way. I understand though if it's not the look you want. Like someone else said, I think if you spray him with water it will probably curl back up.
Doing your own grooming really is easy if you choose to do it. I've scissor cut and used clippers on mine. Their coat is very forgiving. Not to mention, I figure I've already saved a lot of money. Maybe enough to buy a Gucci purse ;-)

Btw, I like your laid back attitude!

I might trim the "cone" shape on his head, but other than that I don't see a huge difference in the cut.

Besides, he has that scary skull and crossbones tag that will let others know he means business.

Every time I get my dog groomed she comes out looking poofy like that. If you don't like it get her wet and it will go away. I know it helps the groomers cut and get it even when they can get the fibers separated like that.

I have an f1b. I have so many people, even in her most shaggy doodle look, ask me if she is a standard poodle. I want to correct them and tell her otherwise. But then I think: I did purchase a dog that is 75% poodle so what did I expect? They all say she is gorgeous so I let it go.

LOL he looks quite happy and he's still adorable:)   Don't but that Gucci purse yet.  Hair dryers, etc. always "pooff' them up but a spray bottle or give him just a couple of days and the curls or waves reappear.

Lol I totally know how you feel. I was just there about two weeks ago. Your doodle still looks cute and happy though! I think Cooper had it worse. I was even embarrassed for him when I walked him that evening. Lol Let me see if I can attach a picture. You might feel better about your cut after u see mine. Lol I don't know why they need to "puff" them up so much! Cooper was back to his normal messy look after two days :)
Let me try again...
