- Shepadoodle-our first doodle! Her name is Molly and she's such a joy to have.
6 years ago I asked my husband for a Great Dane, just before he was getting ready to deploy, he brought me home a Brussels Griffon (if you just said "a what?!" look it up-complete opposite of a dane). I loved him from day one, he's our baby...but I always held out hope for my "big dog". Finally, a little over a month ago, my husband agreed to another dog. We did some research, I decided on a standard poodle, he wanted a german shepherd...I guess Molly was our compromise.
She is GREAT and I see more doodles in our future...we just have to wait until we move to the farm of our dreams.

- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- Many reasons...the low to no shedding factor. The research we did kept pointing us towards a doodle. Our desires for a standard poodle or a german shepherd. The idea that we would have a dog that was bred from 2 out of the top 3 most intelligent dog breeds. The personality traits that so many doodle owners brag about.

Surprised and Sad...My Weekend.

Well, I posted about getting my father a sheepadoodle (old english sheepdog/std. poodle mix) last Wednesday. Our plans (dad and I's) was for me to keep the pup for a few weeks, get her house trained and crate trained. Dad hasn't had a dog, much less a puppy in years. So he was uncertain of how to handle/raise a baby puppy. I woke up at 2:30am on Wednesday night to a crying pup. On Thursday night I woke up at 1:30am to a crying pup. On the way to the mountains, our Doodle girl got car sick- 3 or 4 times :-(
I really thought it was because DH had fed her right before we left...Molly got car sick every time she got into a car, when we first got her. We kept hoping she would grow out of it. I picked Ali up at 4:30pm on Friday afternoon.
The vet- a new vet I JUST started going to- was amazing!! He is sooo friendly, he brought Ali out to me and seriously stood and talked to me for half an hour, just going over different things...he is def. a sweet vet that loves his job.

Ethel still gets sick on occasion, and she just turned one yesterday. Lucy got sick her first year too. We do the not feeding them before car rides, which helps, but on long trips, like camping, I give Ethel Meclezine. I take it for vertigo and vet says it's fine.
