I have been on DK for many years and made some incredible friendships along the way. Sometimes, people stop commenting and we lose track of them and wonder what happened. It is with a very heavy…Continue

We need more members to join. This is one of the best things about the Holiday season. Imagine running to your mailbox every day and finding Doodle CARDS...lots of Doodle cards. Sure beats the bills…Continue

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Holiday card exchange group has been formed as of today. Rae does it year after year for anyone interested. I love getting Doodle cards all of December and…Continue

As many of you know that were involved with my last discussion, I concluded it by saying I would be writing a letter to Petplan. I have also written Healthy Paws, but have not heard back from them.…Continue

I hate fireworks. I am not going to beat around the bush and start by saying I only hate some fireworks, maybe just the loud boom ones. No, I hate them all. As a kid I used to watch them and later when I had kids, we would drive somewhere in horrible traffic so we could watch an hour’s worth of flashes only to have to try and get back home before dawn in the bumper to bumper traffic. It was never my favorite experience and knowing me, I probably offered bribes to my children to make it more…

Yesterday, I was talking to my sister on the phone while I was walking my dogs. In my case, there should be a law No talking, while walking because my dogs are able to sense that my attention is elsewhere and usually act out. Vern takes every opportunity to go right, when I go left and Fudge ups her hunting skills to expert level. At some point in our conversation, I told my sister I had to go because I needed both hands free and I told her to remind me that I was…

There was a time I blogged a lot on Doodle Kisses. It seemed my dogs were always up to something and gave me lots of material. As they have gotten older, mostly I am still dealing with the same stuff I have blogged about for years, so I guess I have less and less to say. I mean, how many times can I blog that my dogs are terrible on leashes, think recall means I just keep re-calling them, and are sometimes on Santa’s naughty list? Well, at the ages of almost eight and nine respectively, Vern…

Yesterday, I mowed the yard and must have picked up some kind of prickers from a bush along the way. I am not exactly sure what to call these dreaded little things that hurt to touch and stick to clothing, but I do know now that entering “prickers” on Google brings up all kinds of unrelated pictures.
One of the few times my dogs opt to stay in the house when I am outside is when I mow the yard. Most things that I do I have two nosy dogs following right behind me to see what…
ContinueYou've come a long way, LAURIE, and I love these painting of Vern and Fudge. I haven't been here for a long time. What program are you using? I am busy in Oregon with my three dogs and other activities. Currently in Texas for my nephew's 50 yr. birthday celebration and waiting for my brother and mother to arrive. My greetings to all of you
for a wonderful 2019.
I just was reading your post about Grandparents - so easy to manipulate. I so much want to be a manipulated grandparent that I am going to be a "foster grandparent" to a little boy with a single mom in Klamath Falls. I am also going to be a CASA (court-appointed special advocate) for a kid in foster care here in Grants Pass. Besides kids and dogs, I still get in some gardening, swimming, and ceramics. I manage to keep busy in our new home in Oregon and don't miss California at all.
Haw! So no more material for blogging. Why do I doubt that? Just because the dogs are older? Feel lucky because my dogs just don't seem to last that long. We lost Hondo at seven years, Groucho Too at eight years, and Copper (foster dog) at nine years. So, Harpo will be eight this year and I worry about him. He is acting a little older, but still very active. Must be time for a new dog for you!
Though its much belated (on my part), thank you, Fudge and Vern for wishing me a happy birthday. Too cute! And, Happy Belated Birthday to you, Laurie - from Zeus and me.
Happy Birthday (belatedly) Laurie!!! Hope your day was as wonderful as you ARE!
You and your mom are welcome. My mom has gotten to a miserable stage also. I can't make "it" better (any of the "its") and all is negative. Her favorite attention is having physical stuff so that I have to take her to the doctor, and that she can complain that the staff doesn't think her important enough to respond quick enough. :-{
