Thanks for the invite - I have nothing fancy... just a Canon Power Shot, but I can change the lenses out on it and I have a wide angle and a tele lens for it, along with some filters. I haven't messed with them a whole lot tho, and do mainly AIM and SHOOT. I don't do much fixing either. I use Picasa and do their "I'm feeling lucky" tab, and maybe some cropping. We do have Elements 6 and tho my daughter uses it (that's the program they are using at her school) - I don't use it at all. Simple simple. This will definitely be a great place to maybe learn more how to use the lenses and filters I have - thanks for the invite.

I took an adult school Photoshop 6.0 class a number of years ago. It was an entire semester and I spent all the time taking notes. Then I took the same class again the second semester and learned how to not have to refer to my notes. At that time there were no Intermediate or Advanced classes. Even after a semester of the class I would say I probalby know less than 50% of the entire program. Never wanted to get into the web stuff. My thing was to take pictures, correct them and print them in a high photo quality. I also like restoring old photos. My favorite thing to do is to take the best of a few photos and take a head from one and put it on another. With three grandsons it is very hard to get them all looking at the camera and smiling at the same time. If I take repeated photos where the body doesn't change, I can usually cut/paste a head from one photo to the other. I manage to get the perfect family photo!!! I am currently using Photoshop 7. I never got into the Creative Suite series which I am sure are quite different. I bought Elements 6 and took a class. It is totally non-user friendly to me. I also can't get use to the layout and presentation on the screen. So, since I use the older Photoshop I doubt I will be able to use word bubbles :(

I have a Nikon D50 with an 18:55 lens, 28-200 lens and 70-300 lens. I also have a Canon G-9. I have given up on my little cameras such as the Nikon Coolpix.

I am so happy to have people that I can go to with questions. I have tons of books but nothing is better than someone speaking in a layman's terms. This should be a great group!!

Thank you for starting this group!!!!!!! Yesterday I posted a question asking people what camera they used to get great doodle pictures. Many kind people took the time to respond. Today I was thinking- wouldn't it be great if there was a photography group at DK. I opened my e-mail tonight and there was a message from you stating that you started a photography group. My wish was granted!!!!! I'm looking into purchasing a SLR camera now or in the future and am a newbie to the world of photography. So far I haven't found any photography classes in the area where I live so this group will be the perfect outlet for asking questions and sharing information. Thanks once again!!!!!

Oh how exciting. Photography is my very amature hobby but I love it! Thanks so much for setting up this site. It will be fun to share ideas and stuff. Even sites that allow us to "enhance" our photos. This may be my favorite Group!!!

What a great idea for a group!!
Here's a link to a great web site with LOADS of tips on cameras, shooting different kinds of things, basic photography and much more.
http://digital-photography-school.com/
It has a forum with tons of info and you can sign up for a weekly news letter that has lots of info and a "weekly assignment". Tips for the "newbie" photographer as well as the very experienced ones.

I'm glad this group was created. I love taking pics of my dogs, but landscapes are my favorite. I have a Nikon D300, paired usually with my 70-200, which is an awesome lens! I just bought a 27' IMAC, and can't wait to use it. I don't own any post-processing software, but would like to get into that too.
