The poop "burying" thing is an old instinct that goes back to dogs in the wild...they tried to cover the poop so that other animals wouldn't be able to track them by the smell.
This is also why some dogs circle several times before they poop; they are gauging the direction of the wind. Fascinating, isn't it?

Hi Jane & Guinness! - LiliBear has been doing this kicking the dirt up proudly after a grand poop :) By the way, I love your page . . . the music is great!! ~Leslie & LiliBear

Chewie doesn't do the "kicking" thing, but the dog we had years ago, Rocky, frequently did. I never realized why he was doing it. LOL.

Does your Doodle try to "bury" his poop by kicking the dirt with his back legs after he's gone? I've seen cats do this in their litter box, but none of our dogs ever did it. Maybe the "mystery breed" in the ALD is actually CAT.

Does your doodle snort! Toby learned this from a dog friend. It's an affectionate thing that he does when we come back home or when he's really happy to see us in the morning.

Surprised she doesn't eat them. Good thing she brings them to you. She must be so proud of herself to have recovered these treasures for you!!!!

Does your Doodle pull out screw hole covers for fun? LiliBear's favorite thing to do is to go around and pull out wooden screw hole covers from the banister. So far she has proudly brought 25 out of 28 to me. I think there are 8 on another flight of steps that she has not yet noticed. lol.

I take Leo to nursing homes to visit & he always finds the tissues....yes even the ones in the sleeves. It's amazing where he finds them but always does!

Is your doodle a sonic tissue- sniffer-outer??? ? No matter where we have a tissue, in a pocket of pants, jacket, or even up a sleeve, our doodle can sniff them out. I don't know what it is about tissues, but she'd go for a tissue I think, over a treat! Go figure!

Does your Doodle ever raise his front paw and point like a hunting dog? Guinness has been doing this now for the past couple of weeks when he's outside and sees or hears something. We had an Irish Setter that did this, but I didn't expect it from a Labradoodle.
