My doodle is clever enough to lift off the heavy lid, set it to the side on top of her dog bowls, pull out what she wants and leaves the evidence behind. If there is anything 'dogworthy" in there, I put it in the outside trash in the garage. She is just too smart.

We had the same problems with trash cans and dish towles when Zack was a pup. I used a quart plastic milk bottle with some loose change in hit.. He didn't like the sound of it hitting the floor and quickly quit.

Betty, your pup may have non food allergies. If the skin issues continue or get worse, you may want to seek out a vet allergist to do allergy testing.

My red doodle has very sensitive skin. She constantly has red bumps which she scratches and irritates. The vet has her on baby benedrly but it has not helped. I use special shampoo and she only eats raw dried food so definitely not diet related. Any suggestions or help would be welcomed!
Thanks!

Abi, does your trash can have a lid? My Dood doesn't bother mine because of the lid. I have the kind that you step on to make the lid open, and another one that I also keep in the kitchen to hold items for recycling, which has a swing lid on the top.

My Reminton is extremely well behavied except for the counter surfing and trash can raiding.  I need ideas especially with the trash can please!  Thank you

Love it, love it, love it. This is much the same as what Dr. Sophia Yin has written about. Anything that sheds light on the truth about the dog/ wolf comparisons can't help but improve the lives of thousands of dogs.

I thought this was an excellent and refreshing look at dog behavior and training...

It could just be a growing phase, Willow is going through. Keep exposing her to things and she will learn not to fear them. Don't make a big deal or reward her when she's being fearful, or the behavior will stay. Every new experience will help her learn it's OK.

Willow is the sister of Molly, and we are having the same issues.  We hope this is just a phase as at this point It's difficult to take her anywhere.  She has always had the best most gentle and kind care and was socialized as a pup.  However at 4 months, she has become terrified of everything around town.  She even pees when someone comes up to her.

We have never had a dog this timid before, she does just fine in her puppy classes, but everything outside is amplified to her, birds, people, cars, any noise or movement, sets her off.

We planned on taking her everywhere with us, vacations etc. We love her but are at a complete loss with this behavior.
