I hope there are many gardeners among us doodle owners. After all we must be nurturers. We can share information on what's safe for dogs, how to keep them from destroying plantings and all green related things.

I have one seed grown Dahlia that returns year after year with no winter cover; however, a Dahlia purchased last summer failed to come back. (Zone 7)
I have been growing a Tagetes lucida (Zone 8-11) in the same spot for 18 years. It has made through our most severe winters. : )

Having dahlias and cannas return in your zone is amazing.

I should have checked that out before I planted.  We are in zone 5, so doubtful they will return next year.  However, my dahlias return every year and this year I had two cannas return.  I was so thrilled.

Yup, I checked them out.

What a gorgeous flower. I think they are Zone 8 and warmer.

Beautiful daffodil. I have never seen them around here.

That daffodil is beautiful. My basic daffodils never bloomed this year? Southern California; lack of water and we never did have a cold winter? Hoping the Dahlias I planted grow. My tomatoes and pumpkins are going wild??

Anyone have Peruvian Daffodils?  I planted two bulbs this year and find them quite interesting.  One stem with four separate flowers on them.  I hope the bulbs divide this fall and survive our winter.  I find them quite elegant.

I love iris. My grandmother ha an acre of them and as a child I helped her weed and divide, etc. She knew the names by heart and Also sold them. I still have two iris from her stock.
