Check the labeling before buying plants at the garden center.

I grow from seed but also buy at the garden center, mostly at the local Lowe's.  I will be checking the labeling for more than growing info. from now on.

Thanks for the reassurance, F. I was just out there looking more closely, and all of my hyacinth seem to be coming up, along with most of the tulips and daffodils. I'm going to go with "all will be fine", lol.

My snowdrops are blooming and lots of bulb foliage is coming up. I am optimistic that all will be fine. Right now it's over 70 here but we know the cold is coming again. I feel spring in the air though.

It was really nice having 60-70 degree weather here in Chicago for the past couple of weeks, but now it's cooled back down again, and I'm worried about my spring bulbs and flowering bushes/trees. I just noticed one of my hyacinths has started coming up, it's a good inch and a half above the soil. :(

Thanks for posting Maryann.  All lovely photos.  We got 2 inches of snow again today.  The positive was that the sun came out in the afternoon.  The weatherman says we will reach high 40s and possibly 50s next week.  I have my fingers crossed!

After weeks of real honest to goodness rain, which we needed desperately here in southern California, the sun has come out and it looks like spring here.  Thought all of you in colder areas would enjoy some color.  All pictures are pots in walled backyard or the deer would have eaten them!
