I hope there are many gardeners among us doodle owners. After all we must be nurturers. We can share information on what's safe for dogs, how to keep them from destroying plantings and all green related things.

Your daughter's garden is so lovely! I'm happy my wisteria may be blooming when I get home but it's a baby compared to this. I hope to see some gardens in the Italian lake district.

Sounds heavenly! What a wonderful place to call "home."

Linda, it's Connecticut.  The woman that owned the house before them was a horticulture professor, so the house came equipped with a greenhouse and amazing plantings.

Wow - it's like a botanical paradise! (

Great photos!) Oh, how I wish I could have something like that. What state is this in?

My daughter's yard smells so incredible in the Spring.  I was there yesterday, and thought I'd share some of her Spring flowers that have amazing scents.

The lilacs...

The whole back of her house is covered with wisteria...

She has literally hundreds of lily of the valley plants throughout her yard, and they're in full bloom.  Oh, I wish you could smell them...heavenly.

Finally got my spring/summer crop planted. A little later than what I usually do but our springs have been really mild. Also we have about two season's time's worth of summer heat. I could replant everything in August and get another crop. My veggies are all in raised beds ala Square Foot Gardening Style, but this time I took off the grid just to have a different look. Cucumbers, Peppers, Zukes, and Bush Beans are a go!

I try to overwinter some things. I found a pot of snapdragons were blooming on my window sill the other day and put them out. But I'll keep my eye out for La Bella . I don't plant many annuals, mostly perennials.

Here in Sunset zone 24, also called zone 9B, we don't worry much about frost, but the weat is a killer.  Just took out my snapdragons to replace them with the annuals that will make it through the heat.  To keep my gardens looking good I need to replace the annuals 3-4 times a year.

Since most of you will be planting snapdragons soon, if you like them,  I tried "La Bella" snapdragons this year.  The flower part is more open and showy from a distance, I was really pleased with the showing they made.  I got them in early enough to get two complete bloom cycles before the heat did them in.

Happy gardening.

Here in Nashville, my mom has always had a rule we don't plant annuals until after Mom's Day....a little more north than you, Nina!  Thanks for the warning. DH and I are flower shopping next weekend.
