Hello all,I'm an avid runner and just got our Goldendoodle boy. He is 9 weeks old right now, but once he's a year or so I would love to start running with him. I see people on trails with dogs all the time. I imagine they have to build up…Continue

@ Melissa's (and someone else's) suggestion, I thought I'd start a discussion thread for those of us here who are following WW. A place to celebrate, share, cry, vent...whatever. Who can't use the extra accountability, right? It sounds like…Continue

I started this group so that those of us who needed a little accountability could come here and receive the encouragement and the little nudge we need to get our the door (or in if that works) and take care of ourselves. I'm still here if anyone…Continue

My weight slowly crept up as the years passed and I just kept up sizing my clothes. Finally about 3 years ago I lost the extra 30 pounds and kept it off until a few months ago when my stress levels just made me want to eat sweets again and again and again, as well as meals that were too big. I am going to use you all's WW commitment to get my rear in gear and re-lose the extra pounds I gained. It is not a lot but it is the result of pure sugar eating.I am finding this harder than the first time around.
What a great idea for a group. I too joined WW in May of 2001 and lost 100 lbs. I kept it off for 7 years. This last year I managed to put back on 30 lbs. I know why, and not that it's an excuse, but my mother passed away just when my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I am the youngest of 5 and the only one that takes care of my dad. The two siblings that live an hour and a half away, see my dad about a hour a year and didn't even send him a father's day card. Needless to say, I have been under a lot of stress. My dad is now on hospice and in the last stage of Alz, but that could go on for a very long time, as this disease is so unpredictable.
I could not have gotten through this without Lucy and Ethel. They are the best therapy anyone could ask for. Today I recommitted. I got up earlier this morning and walked 30 minutes on the treadmill, and am now at work. I hope it cools down tonight so I can take the girls for a walk. These 108 degree days are killing us.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Yippie< I am so excited. I love WW, I ended up on life support the week the changed their point system and I never got into the new way of doing things. I always have done a lower carb version of WW though. Tomorrow I am going to weigh in and then plug my numbers online to see my points.
Joanne, they have totally revamped the point system this past November, do you have that information? I am already a paying member and I will be happy to share anything I can.
To everyone starting tomorrow, are you sure you are ready? Do you have the foods you need to make it through the day successfully? I can wait another day to start if we all need time to get that last pig out in an get to the food store?
I think maybe we can start this on a new discussion and keep things that way. I am not sure if I will state my weight on here, If I know me, I think I will, it keeps me more accountable, but that is each persons option I know my BMI is now moved from normal weight to overweight, but I am hoping it didn't go to obese!!!
Although I joined this group in January, I've never participated. When summer came around this year, and my age hit 21 51 things were so tight. So tight, I could not button anything.
I know WW diet well enough and designed a point sheet for myself. ( if anyone wants this document--I'll send them one)
After walking miles, I've been riding my fat arse down the road on a bicycle and my goal is to one day ride it to work.
I can now button my pants. Whew. It is slow at our age... but WW works. Nice and Slow, but works.
I'm supportive to anyone's healthy diet.
Jennifer, I really admire you for doing this, are you on line or do you go to meetings?
With me the accountability is key so just being on and letting ANYONE besides my family, who tend to forgive my weight and try to be supportive they are also a "come on honey/Mom, you have been so good, treat yourself, would be good for me.
You said you are starting again Tuesday...I think I may join you. I have not attended anything since the program changed but I am a 3 time joiner that never really "got there". You lost 80lbs, I lost 47 once and then, well, you know.
So now that all of DK can see this, I guess I had better get on board. I need your support.
