Heavyweight!  :-}  At least that is what you can call him in the dk group!   My son had a 120 pound Doberman.  Reminded me of a 'mini' Great Dane.

So what is a 120 pound GD classified as?  I think he's still called a "Standard", but he is about twice as big as many of the 60 pound standards out there.

Lara there are actually guidelines for the terms.

Austalian Labradoodle size chart:

Miniature: 14″ to 16″ at the shoulders or “withers” and 16 to 25 pounds

Medium: 17″ to 20″ at the shoulders or “withers” and 30 to 40 pounds

Standard: 21″ to 24″ at the shoulders or “withers and 50 to 65 pounds

Goldendoodles:

Petite range: Height: below 14 inches, typically 25 lbs. or less

Miniature range:
Height: over 14 but under 17 inches (35cm to 42cm) at wither, typically 26-35 lbs.

Medium range: Height: over 17 but under 21 inches (43cm to 52cm) at wither, typically 36-50 lbs.

Standard range: Height: over 21 inches (53cm to 63cm) at wither, typically 51 or more lbs.

Huh. I always thought "mini" and "medium" were interchangeable terms. I used "toy" for smaller than medium.

Hi Lara, our Yogi is 27# and almost 5 1/2 months, so very similar in size. We feed him about the same amount. He does seemed to have stopped growing so fast in the last few weeks though. To your question though, he doesn't seem really starved for more, but he is only moderately active I'd say. Maybe your puppy is more active and requires more.

From what I've read, some standards say that mini's can only be 16 inches tall and others say 17 inches.  So Kona is considered very large.  Maggie is 29 pounds, and she isn't allowed in the "small" side of the new dog park that restricts to 25 pounds.  I felt so bad for her staring at Kona on the other side of the fence having a ball with the small dogs.  She loves playing with the 50 to 150 pound dogs, but hates when she is separated from Kona.

Ruby is adorable.  But I have to agree with Ricki that Ruby is no longer a "mini"!!!  Ha!  Kona was supposed to be a "medium" at about 35 pounds, but he maxed out at 24 pounds and 16.7 inches tall, so he actually is a very large "mini".  I'm guessing that Ruby is already past the "mini" standards, especially with her voracious appetite.  Kona was about 19 pounds at 5 months, and then maxed out at 24 pounds at 8 months old.

Sorry Adina!!!!  so many people were mentioning their breeders lately that I thought the rule had changed.  I didn't mean to break the rules.  Just making the point that there are many good breeders across the country in many states, with many ways to choose and get your puppy home, so it's best not to limit yourself to just your local area.
