What do you guys do with your pups when (if) you work 12 hours? I'm currently on day shift and I'm not 100% sure what I'll be doing with my g-dood pup when he comes home, I looked into doggie day…Continue

Just joined this group and already see some familiar names/faces....howdy, Karen & Lucy, Sue & Murphy! I'm a former L&D then IVF nurse, now feel like a mom-to-be myself as we're hopefully expecting our Australian Labradoodle in a litter due next month.

Upon relocating to AZ, I began working as a precertification nurse for BCBS, telework 2-3 days per week and miss having my companion Lab (Casey, at age 14, picuture here) by my side when I do so.

I also volunteer at the Wellness Community, for cancer support/outreach in Phoenix, where I'd eventually love to bring a trained dog for therapy work. I imagine others of you have done similarly?

Hi Giggles, Congrats on both! Nursing is a challenging career. It is anything
but boring. Good luck with boards. Raising a doodle puppy is never boring
either. They are so much fun! With that being said, I have to tell you that my
two decided to play tug a war with one of my pillows yesterday. The pillow
lost. You will need lots of patience for both areas :)

BTW, does anyone in this group have any experience in infection prevention
for an ASC? I need help!!!!

I'm a Rheumatology RN working in a doctor's office in Mechanicsville, VA. I just love my Therapy Dog goldendoodle, Hollywood, and we have such fun together on our "visits". I am very respected by her and she never leaves my side. She is a true "friend". :-)

Hi all, just stumbled onto this new group. GREAT, love the idea. I am a RN and have worked in just about every nursing field including, med/surg, step down cardiac, home health (included many phases of home health), diabetic, oncology, manager of a 41 bed med/surg unit, clinical coordinator, and finally I am now on the IV/PICC line team for the past 2 years and I just love it. It is a real challenge and I plan on retiring in the next 1 1/2 years. I feel like I have just filled out a resume LOL LOL LOL. LucilleBall is my 3 almost 4 year old F1 Goldendoodle and I love her to pieces. It is nice to know there are so many of you nurses that have doodles. There are several at my hospital and I have encouraged them to join DK, but so far only one has. Looking forward to chatting with all of you. OH BTW, Lucy and I are part of the Christmas Card Group A, we did this the last couple of years and it is so much fun. If you haven't joined a group yet and want to, go to groups, click on Christmas Card excange group A and join, we love to have you and send you a card.

Hello, I am a Labor and Delivery nurse just moved from Florida and am now in Arizona where I am having no luck finding a L&D position yet. But in the meatime I am enjoying my time home with my doodle. He's still a pup at 10+ months.

I live being a nurse to my doodle..when I can tell the Vet he is looking :"Lethargic" or has "concentrated urine or favors his right side over his left, I am helping him diagnose potential problems that would have been overlooked. He's just like a little patient. We play nurse to them like we do/did our real children. Little hard to take his blood pressure tho, ( NO, I don;t do that)

Hey there, I'm a Med/Surg/OR nurse in Arkansas. Started out in MO 34 years
ago so have a few years under my belt. I have two female labradoodles ages 5 and 2 years. I work 12 hr shifts most of the time so I found out quickly that it was not practical to keep them in a kennel for that long. I have had a neighbor come over twice a day to let them out. It was good for the retired neighbor and the dogs loved being out. Doggie daycare sounds great. We just don't have it
in our area. Congrats on your new puppies. I hope you enjoy them as much
as I have my doods.
