We are reading these comments with great interest. Zoe and Gus would love to be part of a Doodle get-together. Currently, we are part of the gone-on-vacation group.
We have met come very nice Doodles this summer!

There's no comparison between the winter side and the summer side at Hondo. The summer side has wide expanses of green grass and a trail loop that runs around it. Lots of benches to take a rest, too. There's always going to be one or 2 dogs that don't get along well with the others, but from my experience those dogs seek out like-minded/similar energy dogs. Lucy's always gives them a wide berth and never tangles with them. The owners are always close by anyway, to help keep the peace. According to park rules, aggressive or unpredictable dogs should be kept on-leash. I can understand your concern, Charles. Your reasons were the same ones that kept me from taking Lucy to any park until recently. We know how Lucy behaves and reacts at Hondo now, and all my concerns have been eased.

Hope the doodle romp comes together. It would be nice to see everyone and their doodles again.

I have been to Hondo during winter, but not when the summer side was open. It does look and am sure is great. I have only been there once, but there were a few dogs that where not all that great with the others. I am easy, if everyone or even a few would prefer Hondo, over " Dogs Dig It " fine with me. Although, Dig It has open air above but obviously enclosed sides. I am going to widen my time frame on responses, as per Lauria's comments about everyone being on vacation.

Hey Charles, I really appreciate you taking the initiative on a Portland Doodles romp. I'm curious though, why not have it at an area dog park rather than inside, while the weather is still good? I'd suggest Hondo dog park off of Hwy. 26. All the dogs there seem to love it, my Lucy included :)

Sundays are usually good for me. Melody is up to date on vaccines. Some of the folks on this site are likely on summer vacation. The last few weeks before school starts are generally busy ones. This coming Sunday we MAY be going to Spokane to get a new Doodle! If we are in town, I would definitely be available. Will know for sure on Friday.

I have had one positive response to a romp. It this point seems, basically no interest. Below are the Sundays that are open. Really do need some feed back on this from everyone!. Wondering if their are truly 49 members on this site. I will give it a week for dialogue or feedback, then will bow out if no interest. Would be a shame!

Hi Charles, all that your doodles need to have is their rabies, distemper, and bordatella vaccination. If this is is going to be a one time thing vs. weekly or bi monthly then we will just have them sign a small waiver upon arrival. If you want to do it monthly, then we will have applications available upon arrival. Hope this helps. The second Sunday and the last Sunday in the month are open from 12-2. The time has to be strict due to daycare dogs coming back out as soon as you guys are done. Hope to see you soon. Let me know what you decide- Janel

Where is "Dog's Dig It"?
Comment by Charles Rocheville on August 20, 2010 at 9:12pm
I am working on a Doodle romp in the near future. It would be at " Dogs dig it". Cool place and the last meet was a grand success. My sister in California was able to view the the whole event on her computer via their web cams. Cost would be $2 per dog, on a Sunday. This would be a random event or we could schedule monthly meets if everyone was on board with that. We are required to furnish updated vaccination certificates. No problem as far as I am concerned. I will keep those on file, so all can attend.

Need feed back, and a lot of attendance, lets get together on this!!
