How do I stop my puppy from Mouthing/Biting/Nipping? Hi Puppy Parents, Zeke and I just joined your group. He is 6 months old and has become pretty much the center of our household. We've had him since he was 12 weeks old. Zeke is currently in beginner obedience and doing fairly well. Potty isues are no longer a problem but we will be taking him on a week long driving trip of about 2,000 miles soon. I'm a little anxious about how he will do. He rides very well now on 2-3 hour long trips so we're hoping for the best.

Karen,

Our puppy had trouble with stairs as well. We started putting a leash on her and walking briskly towards the stairs, then if she resisted we put one had under her bottom and pulled the leash up (yes, it helps to have an extra set of hands!) and when she got to the top, she got a treat. After many tries, she caught on. Good luck!

Hi gang! Picking up my F1 doodle pup next Friday the 26th of Sept. Patti Cake. My husband is a vet and this is the 3rd pup I have raised. The best resource I have found for my critters is a book called "Mother Knows Best, the Natural Way to Raise a Dog. It was published a long time ago, but it really has helped me out a ton. I need to go find another used copy on Amazon. Thoughts? Other good books out there that has been useful?

I found Christine's comments so interesting, since Emma, also suffers from "velcro dog syndrome" and cries pitifully whenever I leave the room, even for a couple of minutes. How about the nipping/biting? I'm really trying so hard to be consistent with spraying, giving her a time out in her crate, etc., etc., but she doesn't seem to be "getting it." Any suggestions from the group would be appreciated.

Willson is doing pretty good with the potty training we just have to make sure we pay attention to him when he wants to go out
