Amazing what a year makes. Doodles are VERY amazing and Thank you for updating. I love hearing these stories.
Last Jan ,I wrote about my rescue. What a joy she has become.Still a little skiddish but nothing like she used to be. She waits for me to come home wiggling from head to toe. Gives kisses to everyone and paws up to be petted. If I could I"d adopt more. Right now we have three. Shea has completed his CGC and my little Aja will start soon. I think she is ready for other peoples hugs. Doodles are the BEST dogs. ,...
Hi Lynette, Congratulations on rescuing, especially one with special needs. I have a puppy mill doodle, too and I know exactly what you mean. It does get better and better as they age and trust. I sometimes think back to what my Ginger was like when I first brought her home and she was afraid of grass, rocks, stairs, bowls and any loud noise. Recently, she drove with me on a 20 hour round trip to bring back Southern Kill Shelter dogs to the Northeast to find forever homes and is the best co-pilot I could have. I still remember the scared girl and see how far she has come and am very very proud of her. Again, Congratulations.
I to have adopted a rescue. I was told she came from a puppy mill.I don't know for sure. I do know she came with special needs. She was scared of everything.I also have two other Doodles that have really helped her recover. She has run through the patio door screen twice and hit the glass once. That was last summer. Today she is a wonderful dog,and loves to be with us always. Still a little skiddish but nothing like she was. Every day we see improvement, shes like a special needs child. and small changes are very exciting for us,what a wonderful year we have had with her. I hope everyone rescues a Doodle.
He's beautiful! Are you fostering, adopt him, find him? I'm so behind, I've had to take a break from the web...
<Just wanted to share a few pictures of Mickey - before and after. What an amazing transformation - he has gained 10 lbs in 8 weeks and has grown like a weed. Amazing what love and good food can do for a soul!
