Hi all! I just joined and for my initial 2 cents I'd like to throw La Quinta's name in the hat for pet friendly hotels. They're especially great on road trips, or if you plan on being busy and need a clean, friendly place to crash every night. Every time we've stayed at one we've been upgraded to a larger, handicapped accessible room - which is really nice with a 65lb Dood puppy. The rates are super reasonable, again, the ones we've been in have always been very clean, they do a full breakfast every morning, and there's NO PET FEE!

The one in Memphis sounds fabulous as well. Lakes, off leash, swimming, water etc. Glad you liked John Stiff. Have a great time. Did you pack your towels? Kooper can have a bath :-)

John Stiff Memorial Park is awesome! I went twice today and will go tomorrow before we hit the road. Thanks for pointing mommy in the right direction.

If you stay on I-40 to Greensboro you will be 30 minutes from my house!! That is close enough to stop. Just let me know when I need to change the sheets in the guest room.

Thanks for the beta on the dog park. Look forward to comparing stories. Will also ping you if we get close to Chapel Hill.

I drove from Amarillo to Memphis when I couldn't find the La Quinta in Little Rock!! I don't recommend it. Way to far to go in one day! Sorry to hear about the bad places. Will be interested to hear about all of it. Drive carefully.
