Thanks! Yep, we're taking 40. We've been to some great places but also have seen some bad places.

John Stiff Memorial Dog Park, Southwest 48th and Bell. And Thompson Dog Park, NE 24th and Fillmore. Both are fenced. You are taking I-40?

Hey Kooper Doodle --- If your travels are taking you in the area of Cincinnati we have a big ole dog park right in our back yard where you can run and play! Tell your mom you are welcome to come visit ..... Lucy & Sophie.

My mommy is taking me on a 2 month road trip across the country. We begin in Northern California and will take the southern route to the east coast. Will see family in New Jersey and New York. Will stop in all the states heading up through Vermont and Maine. Might pop into Montreal - weather permitting.

I'm armed with 3 dog books showing dog friendly camping, hotels and dog parks. Are there any good places for off leash hikes? We'll avoid the National Parks since they don't allow dogs on the trails. I believe that National Forests and BLM land allow dogs to run off leash and are allowed on hiking trails. Does anyone know if that is true?

We're not in any rush so we'll get to stay longer in places we like or drive right through places we don't like.

Does anyone know of good dog friendly beaches in southern New Jersey.. near Philly?

Hi, we just got our puppy last Friday, his name is Beauregard "Bo" and we plan to travel. Our first trip is next week. Going to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and rented a "pet friendly" cabin in the Smokey Mountains. Even has a dog run. Very secluded and beautiful mountain scenery from our cabin. This is the best puppy, sleeps all night in his crate, not a wimper. Right now he's sleeping at my feet, dreaming and barking in his sleep, wonder what he's dreaming about or chasing?

Linda, this is my dream to travel around the country with Jamaica ~ I am so jealous!
Did you have reservations, or did you wing it?
I am thinking I should be prepared to sleep in the car if we were unable to find a place that took dogs.
What kind of car do you have?
A small SUV?
Did you do any sight seeing?
If so, where were you able to leave Webber?
I think about things like leaving her in the car with the A/C going, etc...
I've done a lot of driving between the S.F. Bay Area and Portland, and Jamaica is great in the car.
Thanks.

Webber and I just finished a 7 thousand mile trip from North Carolina to Tumwater, Seattle and Bellingham, WA, down the coast of California to Seal Beach, Cerritos, Santa Barbara, and on to Riverside, California. On the way home we went to Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and back up to North Carolina. I can highly recommend La Quinta motels. Motel 6 is less expensive but very bare and basic. Traveling with a doodle is a great experience. Webber is 2.7 years old and he was amazing. The trip took 6 weeks and was a great adventure.
