Agreed F!
I did see it F - it's one of my all time favorites!
Great clip Cailla. I loved how moved the students and teachers were by this young man's progress. I loved The King's Speech. Did you seeit?
Bonnie, my sister had a pretty severe stammer growing up, and she has worked hard to improve it. It's still there, but it's much better than it was. Also on an interesting note - she is a singer (a beautiful singer) and the only time you can't hear the stammer whatsoever, is when she's singing.
I know that this is never guaranteed, but my sister was never bullied growing up. Everyone has always been very supportive and kind about it, including kids at school. I think this really helped her. I hope the same is true for your grandson!
Camilla, My grandson is 4 and has a severe speech impediment. They just completed testing on him and he is off the charts in many areas of intelligence, but he cannot speak clearly. I dread the day when he will be bullied for this. We are hoping he will get the help he needs. Your post is very encouraging.
Thanks, Camilla! That was great!
This is not really a science video, but it deals with education and it really made me happy and inspired when I watched it today. As someone who has a family member with a stammer, I know how difficult finding not only the confidence, but the ability itself to say what you want to say can be. Just a feel good watch for today. :-)
