Lindsey, Lee, Whopper and Simba's Page

It has been a while since I've posted but thought I'd share our situation so that others may gain some insight...back in September, Simba was hit by a car.  Fortunately it was a slow moving vehicle where we live and Simba ran back up 59 stairs to my husband.  There were no visible signs of damage aside from that he would not sit and after a couple visits to an animal hospital, our regular vet, and a surgical consult, we were told that in time all would heal and that it was…

Simba is nearing 11 months and has certainly developed into quite the character.  The oohs and ahhhs and he's so cute have finally gone to his head!  Or have they?  Anyway, we were doing relatively well leaving for work until about a week ago (aside from some post-move hiccups)...

Every morning around 7 AM, Whopper wakes us up and our day begins.  My husband takes them both out and the typical morning report is Simba did both, Whopper just peed.  On one morning in particular, this was exactly the story. So I get up, shower, get dressed, feed the dogs, and then it's my turn.  I take Whopper and Simba out and Whopper quickly does the business she didn't do on her first trip.  We wander around a little more, Simba does nothing, so we head to the door.  Whopper freezes in…

Throughout my time here on DK I've been hearing about doodle paws smelling like fritos. Whopper definitely doesn't have Frito smelling paws. I've also never met any doodles (or at least smelled the paws) of ones with Frito paws. So, needless to say, I was really beginning to question whether they do in fact exist. Well...they do! We have now had Simba for just over a week! Today he is actually 16 weeks and about 22 pounds. He and Whopper have become very attached and it is so much fun watching them play. She gets very upset when he has to be put in his crate but she is always right there leading the way when it's time to let him out. We are having good and bad days with potty training. He went 36 hours with no accidents and then the next day had 2 so potty training will remain a work in progress. Whopper loves going out… Continue
