This morning for the first time in over a week Guinness was wagging his tail....really, really wagging. Always when I first wake up I lean over and say "good morning" to my boys who are sleeping in their beds right beside me. Guinness always has started wagging his tail when he saw that I was awake, but all that stopped when he was so sick. He wouldn't even pick his head up....but this morning he was happy, and he felt good. I can't even describe how awesome it was to see that little…

The pups I raised for a week came back again after two weeks at the breeder's (my vacation!) They are so cute and friendly! They are growing, playing and getting teeth now- They have just moved from the whelping box to the pen which is in the dining room since Momma dog is not too thrilled with my dogs hanging around her. I can close off the dining room and keep it warm and isolated--so everyone is happy now. The pups were a bit unhappy with the move, but quickly settled into the attached…

You guys are so awesome, funny and wonderfully supportive! I guess we need to try the poop in the hole and at least give it a shot. I do think she will ultimately outgrow it, but it does support the terrier theory that both Karen and my vet shared. Here coloring is lightening up to a pale grey just like a Schnauzer as well. One day we'll do a DNA and see what she is, just for fun. I just hope DH comes around. I ordered one of those tree house bark stoppers and will try that too. I…

Our Holly has fallen in love with Toby a rescue who is a poodle crossed with some unknown breed (possibly Maltese). He and Holly play together for hours and then spend quiet time together. Toby is a puppy (we guess about 10-months old) who weighs about 15 pounds.
We call him a pseudo-doodle because he looks like he could be Holly's son. He is well behaved, loving and well on his way to being house trained. If anyone is seeking a relatively small dog who has most Doodle…

I should have known something was “up” when I saw Leo and Harley talking in the living room on Saturday…..
Who knew this weekend, as most of America was gearing up for “Super Bowl XLVI”, the boys were gearing up for the …
So as I watched “Manning” and those…

Looks like Harriet may yet cost me my DH (not really, but he sure doesn't have much affection for her). She is the cutest little bugger and so much crazy fun. But she won't stop digging in the yard - and the multi-thousand dollar landscaping. Not just little holes, but…

Well, Luna continues to be prove herself to be one of the sweetest doodles I've ever fostered. She certainly still has her issues...and lots of them...but I definitely see small pockets of progress.
On January 16th, Luna started her heartworm treatment. She'd been on doxycycline for five weeks prior to that initial injection. Luna is my first heartworm positive dog and I just didn't know what to expect. Would she be in pain? (yes, a bit - it's a large, deep injection) Would…

Thanks for asking. Megan had surgery on the 10th of January - she had a complete tear and is still recovering. It is hard to know how well she is doing. Sometimes she puts the foot down totally but limps - keeping her quiet is a chore. Thankfully she has readjusted to her crate really well but there have bee OOPs moments when we turn our backs and she does something dumb. She knows something is wrong and is doing her doggy best.

HHe is adorable! Not that I was in favor of a second great dane for them! BUT What a cute little guy. He is really snuggly not timid at all, listens really well. He also cuddled up with Gramma on the couch and he laid his head on mine and his paw in my palm and breathed the beautiful puppy breath all over me! He was so soft and smooth and warm. This was a puppy fix! Here he is in the middle of Zee his sister and Neely the doodle daddy that has been there helping raise Zee to a year old and…

Earlier this week, I was thrilled to log on and see that I had finally done it.... I reached my Hopeless Doodle Addict status! While this badge is now displayed on my DK page, I've know I was an Hopeless Doodle Addict long ago. I've become such a doodle lover and am constantly talking about my Shelby! My friends (non DK members) think I am goofy, but they did offer me congratulations on this new milestone in my doodle loving life. I am honored to be in the company of other amazing HDAs…

Recently, CBS telecast the Kennedy Center Honors of 2011. Among the honorees was my mom’s favorite performer, Neil Diamond. This has caused an upheaval in my mom’s life and by default, anyone she has given birth to and that includes me. Shortly, after the show aired, she got it in her head that as her last hurrah she was going to go see this man perform one last time. Over the years, my mom has been to many concerts. She has seen Elvis, The Lettermen…

... is not like the others!
No, I didn't get another puppy, I swear!
So here's the story - I have a neighbor, lovely woman, who has a husband and an indeterminate number of children (I think there are three boys, but wouldn't swear to it). This neighbor is a fairly recent immigrant from India, where dogs aren't generally pets, and is terrified of…

Since getting Bailey back in July, I have been working really hard to find her "doodle friends". I started a FB page for Goldendoodles and Labradoodles of NE FL, put messages on store FB boards and have even tried to contact other DK'ers from Jacksonville and Orange Park. The only one that I have heard back from was Suzanne and her beautiful girl Lily.
We met up at a local dog park in town and the girls had a great time playing. Can't wait to meet with them again and…

The boys are STILL going to camp! I know, I know, I remember my original plan, and I remember what I said: “once Leo becomes a year old, we will probably stop”, then after his birthday, I said “I’ll probably wait until Leo’s closer to two years old, and then leave them home more.”…

We are still in Vero Beach and I decided it would be good for Lilly to be around other dogs. It is hard in a community of 120 and 70 miles from Omaha and her friend Rua to find doggie friends. Lilly started this Monday for 1/2 days. On the first day, her tail was between her legs so far, I was surprised that she could walk. She stayed close to the attendant. The doggie daycare that I took her to has the dogs divided by puppies and small dogs, med dogs and large dogs so she was was puppies…
