Cooper is dreaming and his tail is flapping away!

I wonder....what do doodles dream about? Is Cooper chasing a squirrel? Is some big dog chasing him? Does he dream about me? Does he dream about flying? Is he dreaming of a steak? Does he dream that he goes to doggy daycare naked? Hmmmm.....

Guinness & Murphy's Mother's Day Blog

Guinness and Murph decided to enter the DK Page decorating contest for Mother's Day. I sort of shamed them into it by telling them all the other Doodles were doing it for their Moms...I love guilt. Happy Birthday Lizzy!

Today is Lizzy's birthday! Do you know what that means?

Halas' New 'Do

I decided to get Halas' hair cut short. I like the way it turned out. His legs need to grow out a little bit, but they had to be cut pretty short last time, so that's a work in process. I'm going to miss the long coat a little bit, but I won't miss the brushing time, and I'm sure Halas won't either. I could spend 90 minutes brushing him at night, and a new mat would show up overnight that would take another 20 minutes to get rid of. It just became really difficult to keep up with, and… Continue

Grooming

Toby went to the groomers for the first time tody, he looks very different but hes very cute! They said he was great, the only thing that scared him was the sound of the dryer. My dad originally wanted to get a "puppy cut" dont but they said that if they did his coat would only be one inch long, they would be taking 2 inches off. Jett is Going to Have a New Daddy!

I still get to hug him and get those sweet kisses for another week, but I am very happy to announce that Jett will be going to live in Columbus OH. His new Daddy (Randy) was referred to me by Tom at the Doodle Country Store! Seemed like a pretty good recommendation to me! EMERGENCY ATTENTION!!!! to ALL dog owners!

A dog in our area died from Cocoa Mulch...... there is NO warning on the bags or the stores

where you buy the mulch but there is a warning on the Cocoa Mulch website (a lot of

good THAT does).

I read about this death at our Kennel where our Doodle, Cady has daycare. So sad.

I know that if I had bought some she surely would have eaten it as Doodles love to chew....

Flood Recovery Photos

Thanks to my DK family for letting me vent and keeping all of TN in your thoughts. I just wanted to follow up with a photo of my best friend's house and neighborhood. There are thousands of families going through this EXACT same thing right now. It is an odd feeling looking at piles of insulation and drywall outside of people's homes. Vern the Man!

We brought Vern home on 3/27/10 and he is such a good puppy. He is, however, not a watchdog. Today, he spent half the morning growling and barking at his reflection in our fireplace window. If Fudge barks at something out the window, he runs in the opposite direction and only goes to investigate when he thinks the coast is clear. Poor Cooper - torn pad

I woke up in the middle of the night to hear Cooper licking his paw. I told him to stop and he did, and I didn't think much more of it. Then this morning, he was at it again, so I had a good look at his paw. He somehow tore his upper pad (not one of the ones that he walks on, but the one way up high by his elbow.) Not news to me....

but Callie is OFFICALLY the cutest dog in town (for the month of May, and according to the place where I buy her food). Still...she should enjoy her "15 minutes"! She is just the best doodle girl I could wish for (when she's not destroying stuff or rolling in a patch of burrs)!

Frightened Phoebe

The strangest thing happened to us yesterday. Phoebe was lying near the front door looking out the sidelight at some men working on our neighbor's property. I was on the phone and washing a glass when I heard the terrible sound of metal scraping along something. At first I could not place the sound but I ran to check what Phoebe was doing before looking elsewhere. MORE GUINNESS AND MURPHY "STUFF"

Okay, it's been a few days, and yes there's more "stuff" going on with my Doods. And yes, that means another blog. So, here goes...

Update on Haley

Haley and I thank every one for their support.

The Vet called this afternoon to advise that the surgery went well and Haley was waking up from the anesthesia. She found a rock, 3 centimeters in size and almost pyamid shaped in his stomach and no other obstruction. She said the poop that he has in his intestines he should pass on his own. I am to call tomorrow morning to find out when Haley can come home. It should be sometime tomorrow if all goes well.

Sadie's Story

Devastation in Tennessee!

I posted something on this yesterday, but I am posting a new blog sincerely asking my DK friends to keep the state of TN in your thoughts. We have had some serious flooding - parts of Middle TN look as bad as New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
