Hi everyone! Well, it's been one week with Olive, and we're all doing very well, except for one thing...and, apparently, I need some advice!
Olive is doing absolutely great. Huge accomplishments:
1 - From 11pm to 6am: Olive sleeps in her crate & NO accidents
2 - Mornings: We go out for 3 little walks. Perfect: she does her business outside, and NO accidents.
3 - All day at my retail store: She hangs out with me. We go out for 2 or 3 walks during the day, and… Continue
So, we have had three really really hot and humid days here. The dogs have been too hot to do anything and have had to be dragged out on walks. All of a sudden this evening, the air cleared and it cooled down (well, relatively speaking!!). Apparently my two had been storing energy over the last three days and suddenly went crazy!! I opened the door and ket them out into the yard where they spent the last 30 minutes running around the garden chasing each other at full speed, jumping in and out… Continue
Today this mornig mom went out side to see what we were up to. I was playing with my toys and running around like a doodle out of heck. Mom looks over to sissy to see why she is just standing looking at something. She also let out a big happy woo woo so she was up to something. Laying in front of her at her feet was a dead squil. It was the one that always teesed us and runs the fence line. I think it made a mastake and feel because… Continue
My dog has been training to be a therapy dog for a while and YESTERDAY me, my dad, and Bailey went to BID A WEE and we took a obedience test to see if he's up to the challenge of being a therapy dog. I feel that Bailey did pretty good!!!!!!
Me and my family go camping over the summer and now that we have Bailey we bring him to. He enjoys running in the large field and sitting by the fire. One time my mom and dad let him run in the field with out leash he ran around for a while and we couldn't find him so we went back to the trailer and he was sitting there waiting for us. Guess he really is a camptown ranger!!!
Penny has been with us now for 2 whole weeks, and seems to be growing at an alarming rate. Actually alarming is too strong a word, as we don't care how big she grows, maybe I should say one helluva rate. Anyway she is settling in nicely, we love having her, more joy to an already happy household of two adults (ha, adults!), and 3 indoor kitties, speaking of which, our eldest Bun, and youngest Potsy have kind of got used to Penny being around. They still treat her with some contempt, but… Continue
My Mom has been trying to figure out how to win your contest. There are a lot of good entries so she wants to try and out-do them.
This is torture for me! She has done things to me that I DO NOT like. My doodle Dad keeps saying "you poor guy". I don't know if the other doodle parents are doing this to their dogs too but it isn't right. Next time you decide to have a contest, think about me. How about you ask for a 200 word essay or something like that. AND YES, I blame… Continue
Last night Ellie was being such a good puppy! No accidents and all bathroom business was done on the pee pee pads. Plus she only went when necessary. Whew! I'm going to continue keeping an eye on her but thanks for everyone who was looking out for Ellie :) I guess you can never be too cautious.
Now if only she can go outside... maybe she'll burn off her energy. I cannot help but laugh when she runs around my coffee table 3-4 times growling at night. Does anyone else's doodle do that?… Continue
This group is fabulous...they are an improv group that does planned public "surprise" performances in quite unique ways. Sometimes they pull 'pranks' but they are always good-natured and often NICE pranks.
I've seen a few videos and recently ran across this one
I took Fergie to a new teacher - one who has come highly recommended from numerous people. Anyway, we went for our first intermediate obedience class. I told her that she had already passed "pre-novice" classes, and has passed both her CGC and her TDI tests. I want to teach her some fun stuff that we could use in our Therapy visits.
Our first class we started out with sit. We moved on to stay - stay for 30 seconds. I told her she'd stay long enough for me to drink a couple of beers -… Continue
Well, Yankee and I went to the dog park this morning and I couldn't believe what I saw. There was a man walking his goat.....yes, a goat. It was on a leash and at first the dogs didn't seem to notice it until he stopped. Then a few dogs went cautiously over to try and get close enough to sniff it. It would move and they would all jump back including Yankee who gets scared by his own shadow. Then a couple of dogs tried again and it moved. They jumped back again. It was very amusing to… Continue
I'm not sure if Ellie is rebelling - what would she be rebelling against? I don't know. Or maybe she's regressing.
She rarely has accidents but between last night and this morning she's had about 4-5 accidents. She's got two pads that are laid around my apartment that she goes on, but for some reason she's chosen not to. I can only wonder what is going on in the little dog's head. Lately she's been walking over to the door a lot. Maybe it's a sign that she's ready to go out. 3rd… Continue
Took my pup in to be spayed this morning. I happened to ask the tech what her weight was (out of curiosity). I'm so glad I did. She told me 32 pds, I quickly asked for a re-weigh as she was only 19 pds a month ago. She did so right away and said she was 18.9, that she had mis-read it. This could have been a disaster as they will be putting her under anesthesia. I believe this could have killed her had they not realized their mistake prior to putting her under. I'm so thankful that I asked.… Continue
Last night I bought Ellie a baby gate so I could gate her off in my kitchen. I don't know if it was that I wasn't paying attention to her and trying to set-up the gate but she bit me so hard on my foot that I have a cut. Then she continued to bark and nip at my pants. Needless to say I wasn't too happy.
This morning she woke up and we played for a little bit before I started getting ready for work. I put her pet taxi - which she sleeps in - in the kitchen w/ the door open and stuck… Continue
I'm so embarrassed! I just saw to the left of my page an amber gem! Up yet another rank! I am now a Doodle Fancier at 3008 points! I haven't felt so overjoyed since my induction into the Nerd Herd in 2005. .
I really have no idea where I find so much time to devote to this. I have a busy life! Honest! 4 offspring, (well 2 are in university but 2 still occasionally ask me to: "wipe my bum!" when it is a bad one.), 2 dogs, a big house in the wilderness complete… Continue

Today mom, dad and sis took a nice walk on the old loging road. I love to go for walks and get some energy off. Mom said that later she will take me out back and let me play with my jumps and my toys. She even told me that she just got me a swimming pool. Im so lucky
I noticed this weekend that Wrigley kept on licking and chewing in the same area, and when I looked closer I noticed that she had a horrible sore there. Some of her fur is gone, and the skin is a dark color, like there is a scab there. The fur around the area is matted. I feel so sorry for her. I put some bitter apple around the infected area hoping that she'd leave it alone. Then last night she started itching all over...I mean constantly scratching. I checked her really good, and she doesn't… Continue
