A Meeting with Adelle!

Samson met his first relative. My mother in law and my neice stopped by the campground today. I see Doodles everywhere!

Is it my imagination but as soon as I get a Labradoodle...everyone I see has one??? How is that possible??? I pick the most awesomest dog breed mix in the whole wide world....and everyone follows me?? How is that possible...again I ask?? LOL!

Training Classes & opening weekend!!

So....I've started obedience training classes, one on one. It has been really awesome!! I'm very surprised at how much I am enjoying this!! The trainer is a behaviorist also. We train with treats and a clicker. This has been very good and I have learned a lot about how dogs think. I just had my second lesson yesterday. Groomer advice!

So, I have a friend (a camper in our campground) who does grooming and does it out of her home. She does a fantastic job on Samson. He had his 3rd visit on Thursday and when I went to pick him up, she told me, "as a friend, I want to let you know that you must take this dog to obedience classes". I love my boy!!!

He is soooo good. I took a walk today, like I always do, with Samson, in the camp. As we were walking, down the road was a mom and her two little girls, I mean, little like, 2 years and 4 years old. She could not believe how CUTE Samson was. She told me they had a St. Bernard that got epilepsy so bad, they had to put him down. She was heart broken and was thinking of getting a new dog soon. Getting big!! BIG!!!

Finally had a chance to weigh Samson yesterday.....holy smokes, he's 73 pounds!!! I can't believe it. He is 8 1/2 months old. I did not realize he gained that much because I have no notice of him getting bigger!!!

He is a beauty though!!!

YAAAAAAH, January 26, 2010....Samson's mommy had BABIES!!!

Just got an email from Kim, the breeder of Samson!! Samson's mom Bailey had her puppies!!!! Awesome!!! I am excited!! She had nine pups!! I don't know yet what color or gender, but she will let me know when she can! Oooooh, Samson has more siblings!! Aww, how cute!!

Bombs and more bombs!

Man, I am being bombed with gas!!! Samson has been dropping bombs like crazy! I have changed his food from puppy to adult food. He's eating Rachael Ray's Nutrish. He loves it but he was doing bombs on puppy food, not as much, but he still did it! Gosh, the gas is HORRIBLE!

Do I wear a gas mask all day???

He loves water!!

Ugh, came home in the afternoon to let Samson out, and he had taken his ceramic water dish and pushed it all over the kitchen! Water all over....he hasn't done that since he was 12 weeks old!!



I guess he was mad he was by himself...well, I have news for him. When the camping season starts, I will be gone more!!! He better get used to it!!!

I am so in LOVE!!

I am so in love with this dog...that sometimes, I want to burst!! He is so cute, adorable and yes, he can be a pain, but I feel all his good traits outweigh the pain in the butt things he does.



I found out yesterday that the breeder that I got Samson from is having another litter to be born on January 30th!!! She lives nearby so I hope I can go and visit the new puppies. I think she has a waiting list. Samson was from her first litter ever. She had never bred Labradoodles before so… Continue

The Sock Boy!

Okay...I need to write this as my husband and I could not believe it!! And I want to remember this! We were scammed by a Doodle!!!



I had these two plumbers over to fix my 1/2 bath off my laundry room. We only have a half basement (I live in a ranch brick house) and the basement is basically a crawl space. Winning the Lottery.

The lottery was up to $160 million right before Christmas and my husband bought tickets for us and for all our relatives for a gift.

i asked him, what would you do with all this money?? Well....he said the usual, give some to his brother, his cousin...but then, he said something I really loved.

He said, "I would open a shelter for pets that are unwanted....and keep them and take care of them, and you can run it!!".

Hmmmm, I think I love him a lot!!!!

Christmas is Over!

Samson did very well during Christmas. He had NO interest in our Christmas tree whatsoever!! I was extremely surprised and pleased! He did well with his surgery too. Everything is healed and he was back to his old self the next day pretty much. We've been walking almost every day. He loves the walks. He is 7 months old now. It seems to be going fast now!

Neutering and other things!

Well, today is the day. Samson went in at 8:30 am and I will be picking him up at 4:30 pm.



I forgot to tell a story about what he did the other day. After Samson was groomed, Janice (my groomer) gave him a Christmas present of a rope with a tennis ball attached to it. The rope went inside the tennis ball and the rope was like a circle shape, there was a plastic handle on the other end, so you could play tug with it. Very nice and Samson loved it. What the heck???!!!

What?? I am going crazy with this puppy. When I leave, he gets soooo bored, I guess! He finally got to my calendar that I put so HIGH up that he could not reach it, but he did and shredding it to bits!! I guess he didn't like 2009! Then, he ate a whole slab of brownies that were in a tupperware all the way back on the counter.



Now, I'm hoping he doesn't get sick. But he has been running around the house like a nut!!! He NEVER does it for more than 5 mins. but, he is acting weird… Continue

OMG!!!

I think my doodle just totally forgot I was at the other end of the leash and I almost killed myself!! I took Samson out to go pee. He thinks he saw a bird and shot out, I slipped in the mud (it's raining, otherwise, I would not have fallen) and he dragged me a few feet before he stopped.



I must have looked like an idiot!!! I was full of mud.



I was NOT happy. But, everything went into the wash.

Thanks To All Who Responded!!!!!

Thanks you guys, who responded to my last blog!!! I feel soooooooooooo much better knowing I'm not the only one who has a doodle that is sometimes CRAZY!! And drives ME crazy! It has been better these past days. My husband really helped too! I also, the past two days, have let Samson out on my enclosed deck with some toys for an hour out of the house, where I check on him every few minutes and I can do some housework or vacuum or something without him right next to me!!

Puppy depression!

Has anyone else gotten this??? I am in a funk right now and can't get out! I've fallen and I can't get up! I don't know if anyone else feels this way sometimes, but I get sad over the independence I've lost. I sometimes think I was too fast in getting another puppy so soon after Odie died.

Maybe I should have waited a year or two.

I'm tired and I know puppy hood comes only once and this will pass.
